Going to mock a trade back just because I'm in a crazy kind of mood....I'll say a team in the early 2nd (8th) gives us their 4th to jump up and take a skill position player left on the board at the end of the 1st.

2nd Round- Owamagbe Odighizuwa DE UCLA- 6'3 270 lbs, strong, quick, relentless. Lives in the backfield and will be a force in both the pass and run game

2nd Round- Anthony Harris S Virginia - 6'1, Fast, with fluid hips and great agility makes him an ideal S to cover the new pass happy NFL. Led the nation with 11 INT's as a Jr.

3rd Round- Preston Smith DT/DE Miss St- Played up and down the line in college including DE and NT. Stout, strong athlete who has plenty of quicks to penetrate gaps. Perfect DT for a 4-3 defense imo.

4th Round- Cam Thomas CB Western Kentucky- Solidly built 6'1 190 lb CB. 11 career INT's with 2 years as a full time starter. Fluid athlete with the ability to run with anyone. Good tackler as well.

4th Round- Donovan Smith OT Penn State- Not quite ready for the NFL yet, but he's got a special blend of size (6'5 335) and athleticism. Most likely could have been a much higher pick if he went to school and had a good senior year but could make a nice mid round project for us with a really high ceiling.

5th Round- Jake Ryan OLB Michigan- Tough hardnosed player who's college career was derailed by an acl injury in 2013 after a breakout 2012. Looked to be rounding back into form late in 2014, could be a steal. Very smart LB who's effort will never be questioned.

7th Round- Spencer Roth P Baylor- Donny Jones has to go....and good news is that if he doesn't work out at P he has a shot at LB because he's 6'4 225 (sarcasm)

Smith has the size, bulk and aggressiveness needed for the next level, but the decision was a surprise because he has been far from dominant. Penn State struggled to run this season, and quarterback Christian Hackenberg frequently was under siege. While the lack of a true feature back hurt, what hurt more was that the offensive line created little push.

While Smith looks to have a good upside, he is not consistent with his technique and had issues in pass protection this season.

Any input on Harris? Any complaints about his coverage? Kinda hard to watch a guy play a deep zone on a YouTube video...

He gets listed as a SS because Quin Blanding kind of came in and took over the deep safety duties this season, but Harris is a true, quintessential center-fielding FS. I think he showed that last season. He's big, moves well, has a nice wingspan and great ball skills. He's not afraid of contact but he's not the best tackler, either, and busts a coverage now and then going for a pick. He's a really good, really instinctual football player whose stock will depend a lot on his 40 time.

Only a 4th to move up from #40 (2-8) to #27 ? That should be worth a 3rd.
