1st round (#27): Rutgers CB Devin McCourty.
Speed is the name of the game, and McCourty has plenty of it. Covers tremendous ground as a corner, whether in press or in a zone. Also an excellent kick returner.

2nd round (#59): UMass OT Vladimir Ducasse.
Oline is definitely a target and a guy you don't hear much in connection to the Cowboys, but who is definitely on the radar, Vlad the Impaler. Big, agile, nasty, team leader. Could play either OT or OG.

3rd round (#91): Purdue DE Mike Neal
.
Big and strong interior lineman who was also used at end to take advantage of his pass-rush skills. Experienced in taking on and shedding double team blocks. Has good initial and closing quickness as well as some fluidity.

4th round (#123): Citadel WR Andre Roberts
.

Kind of choppy, but the quickness, outside speed, body control and hands are readily apparent. Attending the Citadel has brought him good character and work ethic.

6th round: (#187): Florida State SS Myron Rolle.

7th round: (#219): Kentucky FB John Conner.

This is probably my favourite draft I've seen...Managed to get 2 of my favourite guys, Roberts and McCourty...Plus other solid players like Ducasse, Neal and Conner. Good job.

Pretty realistic too, I'd say--cause these are the exact type guys the Cowboys like

I think this is a very realistic draft scenario. You get good value for every pick with the exception of Rolle who I think is a mediocre safety. If we go safety late, I would rather take a flyer on a productive small-school prospect.

I subscribe to the theory that Parcells brought here when it comes to the draft. Taking productive players from major college programs. If nothing else Rolle would bring more intangibles to the ball-club and could be a fixture on special teams for a number of years.

To me drafting Rolle late would be similar to us drafting Jay Ratliff in the 7th round as opposed to a workout warrior who would need development. Although we got much more from Ratliff than I could ever envision Rolle bringing here.

Obviously, I share your drafting philosophy since these picks closely mirror my own thoughts, but Rolle just doesn't impress me as a football player. With late picks, I'm more inclined to take a boom or bust type like Mike Newton of Buffalo or Jeromy Miles of UMass, both of whom are more athletic and productive than Rolle but who hail from smaller programs.

I do think all of these players, including Rolle, fit the profile for what we've been drafting lately.

Good job.

You gave me a semi to start. Dont love the DE, Can we have Spikes there?

And are we signing Atogwe in this scenario or moving Ball to FS?
