In the search for a new variety of music aside from the usual Metallica and old school Metal.

I love heavy metal music but definitely WITHOUT screaming. I hate screaming.

A couple of bands I like are Five Finger Death Punch and Killswitch Engage but I hate when they scream. When they don't scream, it's very good music. Especially FFDP who was called the Modern-Day Metallica. I also found a couple good songs by Breaking Benjamin.

Are there any modern day non-screaming heavy metal bands that you listen to or recommend? Thanks.

FFDP's new song Lift Me Up is awesome, also has Rob Halford singing/screaming on it.

Foreign band with male and female singer called Kontrust...check out bomba and the smash song from them.

Halestorm...female singer who can belt it out. Check out freak like me and I get off.

Alestorm...yes different bands. This one is a genre band....pirare genre...imagine pirates of th carribean mixed with distorted guitar. Check out rocking sea shanty songs like shipwrecked and drunken norwegian just fun songs and the shipwreck video is funny.

Adrenaline Mob. It's almost like a an All-Star band. Nickelback, even with as much criticism as they take, is a solid hard rock band. I also love Disturbed, or their lead singer's side project Device. So many others to name, but those are some of my favorites

None of these bands really sound like you asked for but they're bands I like.

Clutch (as good as rock gets these days)

Seemless (current singer of Killswitch Engage)

Mastodon (there's yelling, but mainly in their older materiel)

Ghost (their lyrics may put some off but I love these guys)

Trivium (the album 'the Crusade' and their two newest songs don't have much yelling)

Hard to find ones that dont scream.

Maybe Avenged Sevenfold...especially their new album I think is going to be a lot more rock driven. Atreyu has gotten away from some of the screaming, and Bullet for My Valentine has some, but they are more melodic than screamo. I know those are more household names, but if you dont want screaming, they are probably your best bet.

Beyond that, you might want to try Thousand Foot Krutch, Bullts N Octane, A Day to Remember, Shadows Fall, Coheed and Cambria, and Sonic Syndicate (though some of their stuff is really synth driven, which i'm not a fan of).

My two favorite bands are probably Rise Against and Story of the Year. They are both high energy, but little screaming. Hard to call them heavy metal though

Deftones are my all-time favorite band, but they do their share of screaming. especially the earlier albums.

I've always been a Disturbed fan. Kind of a guilty pleasure sometimes, but Draiman can sing pretty well when he wants to.

Though, they're less metal these days than hard rock.

Oh and I forgot about Leprous:

They might be a bit too proggy for someone just looking for heavy metal/hard rock, but I like 'em. He can definitely sing.

Another band that's been around FOREVER that has a lead singer than can do both the growls and the clean vocals is Opeth:
