Why do people want to take Sam? The guy isn't going to be a very good player.

Because he was the best defensive player in the best conference in college football at a position of need, who has only likely been mocked as a 3-5 round prospect after scouts found out about his sexual orientation.

He can flat out play football and was better than Kony Ealy, no matter which way you slice it.
