Monday Night Game Thread

I don't care if he lost tonight, I still wish Ryan Fitzmagic was out QB.

Hard to say how he would do... he has no fear of taking chances. But he has been so up and down his whole career.

But, at least it would be entertaining to watch.

it's clear that 1st fumble by the bucs changed the momentum of the whole game. this loss has nothing to do with fitz

Fitzpatrick keeps the job with the Bucs. Winston wants out. The Cowboys complete a deal for him that includes our 1st round pick to finish the season here as the franchise starter. After Prescott clears waivers he's signed to the practice squad.

The Bucs then trade a 3rd rounder for Earl Thomas.

Winston throws for 145 yards in his Cowboys debut.

Bucs put Jon Gruden in roh for 1 sb. Whereas Cowboys for winning 2 sbs and being the architect for 3rd, chose to jimmy him.

Huh? The plan was to use Fitz until next week, when Winston returns from suspension.
But you do agree that Fitz will still start next week, right?

I assume Winston will eventually get the spot back, but its not like he was playing great last year. Was basically in the middle if the pack.

I expect he'll start next week because NFL coaches are generally gutless. For good reason; get on the wrong side of the fans and media, and ownership will often cut you loose. Fitzpatrick was not great tonight: his 3 picks (yes, only 2 were his fault) in the first half were the reason they were in such a deep hole, and he nearly threw 2 others late in the game. Plus, we have a lot of history on Fitz, history that I trust way more than just 3 games this year. Winston's a better QB.

the fumble caused them to be in a deep hole

Based on what? The only thing you can say about Winston is that you hope he can develop into something better - but if you actually watched his games last year, you would see his stats don't tell you the entire story. He was actually pretty terrible, like bottom of the league terrible in terms of starters. He also crumbles mentally in crunch time.

Honestly, there's so little about the guy that has upside at this point and his off the field issues should have him benched or out of the league.
