What is with all the Braylon love. He has been non existent for a year and then all of a sudden he catches 5 passes for 64 yards and a TD and the rueing begins.

Not saying he had a bad game, it was fine but hardly the stuff rueing is made of.

If that gets some rueing what does the Jets missed opportunity on Miles Austin get? That must be like HOF caliber rueing or something.

Braylon has a ton of potential and all the physical tools, his main problem has been the dropped balls. And the Jets only traded a 3rd and a 5th. We traded the farm for an overrated possession receiver.

I love that Wildcat. Its crazy how these young QBs play well now and they seem so active in the pocket.

too bad he couldn't do that in the 7 games he played with Romo last year. that's all he's done this year. rookie Jeremy Maclin burnt that same D for 100+ yards and 2 tds.

Sure Maclin did all that, but it was only busted coverage

And I didn't miss the right away part at all. I'm glad Roy Williams didn't come in and "produce, right away" a loss to the Chad Henne quarterbacked Miami Dolphins. I'd hate to see how this board would implode after that. People would be rueing Lousaka Polite.

We spent a first and third on a trashy reciever.

RW is average overall. He has no speed and no moves. He is however a good move the chains type. Like Keyshawn. RW has great hands.

And Braylon Edwards had 1 "gamechanger" TD tonight, and the Jets lost. What exactly are you trying to prove? Help me out.

He had two. He was one inch away. Give me a break.

Braylon Edwards for a 3rd and 5th>>>>>>>>>>>Roy Williams for a first and 3rd

That's my point.

Im 100% sure. They were talking about Braylon being more concerned about becoming a male model rather that a professional football player. Also that New York will eat him up if he continues to drop balls.

They didn't mention Sanchez.

:laugh2:

I guess somebody should have been paying more attention to ESPN.

No matter which way you guys try to slice, dice, dip & dodge and spin it, a Loss is a Loss. Braylon Edwards could have caught 10 TD passes tonight but a "L" is still a hell of a lot uglier than a "W".

3rd, 5th, and two players, one of whom has been suggested as an up-and-coming player. It balances out, imo.
According to an NFL source, the Jets gave up draft picks in the third and fifth rounds in the deal, Schefter reported. The third-round pick is a conditional pick and could turn into a second-round pick if Edwards catches a certain number of passes this season. That is said to be a high number, but if Edwards, the No. 3 pick in the 2005 draft, lights it up in New York the way the Jets are hoping, the Browns then would get a second-round pick in return.
Amazing the hate towards our own players. I could understand if Roy was Barbie Carpenter level, but he's actually had a solid year considering.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised..

I just don't get the grass is always greener mentality. Maybe you are right, but then again maybe you are wrong.

Knowing Cowboy fans had Dallas actually kept the first rounders you (not you you but you in general) would quite possibly be in a different thread rueing what we could have drafted.

I am sorry, I know what you are getting at but I just dont get it...not yet anyway.

If this were a book, you just read the first couple of pages and determined the ending.

Braylon has as much proving to do as Roy Williams does.

Really?

Maclin caught the ball with defender(s) on him. In fact, I was trying to see who was covering him on his touchdowns. How was that busted coverage and how are you defining busted coverage?

Im not hating, i just think we gave up a ton for Roy Williams. I hope Roy pans out, but I would take Braylon for a 3rd and 5th over Roy for a 1st and 3rd all day.

Because that's the only way anyone could beat Tampa's DBs for a TD pass! I read it right here on this site!

It was two. He got spared on that booth review which set them up for a TD anyways.Same thing.

I don't know what the hell your talking about with the wins and losses. Very pathetic argument.

We could have had a first round pick in 09 AND Braylon. But no, Jerry panicked and slobbered all over his Texan Royicia Williams.

It really is pitifiul and is unbearable to read sometimes. I don't get it...and truthfully I don't want to get it.

I've never been one to question people's fanhood, but some people make me wonder.

This blaming Garrett for everything deal is getting old.

RW has been integrated into the offense. Unfortunately he dropped what should have been a TD a few weeks ago, and Romo has missed some good plays to him as well.

RW is hurt. Felix Jones is out. MBIII is nowhere near 100%. The QB has been helter skelter. And yet fans of this team blame the coordinator, who has his team ranked at the top of the league in almost every offensive category.

If he's gone after the yr and goes onto success elsewhere, there better not be one word of "Jones blew this!!!!!!!"...."How could he let Garrett get away!!!!!"...."Worst GM ever!!!!!"

***This post is way behind because I got caught up right in the middle of it***

I don't think Blaming Garrett is getting old. The dude has some serious issues.

As far as integration into the offense, I think its a good question. And if not Roy Williams, where the hell is Bennett? Where is Felix being split out when he is in there.

Sure, maybe Bennett doesn't know the playbook but he has to know a play or two. Dude's supposed to be some freak and you can't give him a handful of plays to learn. If he's too dumb to get the book down, give him a page or two of plays and tell his dumb *** to "go get it".

And it stretches far beyond not getting a few players involved. Calling a draw play from your own 2-yard. Back to back fades. Refusing to put a guy on the field even though the guy in front of him is hurt. Refusing to go run first in a game where the QB is OFF BAD.

Just a few things this guy has done this this short season. And these are just basic things. These are things that anybody with a small sense for the game can't help but shake their head at.

And we can go back further too. Who here remembers 4th & 1 Deon Anderson for no gain in Pittsburgh? How about 50 passes, 10 runs vs. Washington last year? How about Felix getting ZERO touches (I honestly thought Felix had a couple but NFL.com says none......I might be missing something because I thought Felix had like 6 carries) in that game? Dallas started with the lead and was only down 7 to begin the 3rd quarter and he only called 8 runs to RBs, how?

I used to piss and moan about strictly being conservative with Sean Payton and Parcells but given the option between that and the **** we see on a weekly basis, I'll take conservative any day of the week. Parcells used to play "not to lose" and it would frustrate me because Dallas had a better passing game then running game at that time. It would piss me off because they were playing scared and I just hated it.

Now, there is no question Dallas has an ELITE running game. Dallas hasn't had a running game like this in a LONG, LONG time and Red just doesn't get it. He doesn't. The only time you can count on him to run is when he is icing the game. Otherwise, he's passing heavily. Worse than playing scared, Garrett is just playing stupid. At times I get the impression he's trying to out-brain the competition.

"Lets see, failed fade..........I'd bet they'd never expect another one"

"Hmm......1st & 10 from our own 3.........No way in hell anyone would ever think I would call a draw from here"

And then at other times I get the impression he takes the "F-that, we're not doing that this year" type of mentality too far. When he said that line in Hard Knocks last year he was talking about making excuses in regards to not being able to do something on offense. There's times when I think he forces the issue becuase he doesn't want to "make excuses" or admit that his gameplan isn't going off as he planned.

Garrett is not off limits. Not by a long shot. He has supreme say on offense and he's produced some real head scratchers. I know there are some who are gonna say:

"Look at the stats"

"We're #1 ranked offense"

Well look at the stats before Garrett. Dallas was #5 in offense in 2006. This team had a good offense and was doing it with much less at the RB position and Romo coming in late.

I think more often then not, this team gets by purely on the ability of a couple of players. I don't think I've seen a complete game by the offense yet. Even in Tampa, the best offensive game all year, Dallas really didn't get going to the half.

5 games into the season, I think Garretts stock is lower now than it ever has been.

We've got a few in here who enjoy riling people up -- I won't say trolling, but it's not far off -- at least as much as they do rooting for the team.

And then there's the few who root for other teams as much as ours. At least Kittymama was up front about it.

And good post, Hoofbite. That kind of sums it up on Garrett IMO.

And as for rankings, we're always told that points are what matters. We're 11th in scoring offense. Not even top 10.
