What needs to happen to turn this team around is to give the team a financial incentive to beat other teams by a 14 points when the game is over. Then the bonus kicks in.

Until then, Dallas, AS A TEAM, is going to be content to keep the game close, and hope to edge out sub-par teams.

So do this. All players and coaches make the vet minimum, they only collect the rest of their pay when their W has a 14 point lead to go with it.

Dallas needs to dominate!!!

I'm sort of kidding, but not really.

You'd never get superstar players like Romo, Ware, Witten or any future name player to have anything to do with this team if that was the deal on the table. Heck, nobody, period, would play for this team then.

that's true. but at least the players that are on the team will actually TRY to earn that bonus / paycheck, and leave everything they have on the field. Which is more than I can say for numerous players..

i think what it is this..

i love the way jerry likes to keep good players for us more than any other owner in the league.

witten, ware, romo, etc..

i really admire that about him.

but he has shown loyalty to a few that spit in his face too..barber,gurode, james etc.

problem is we are not drafting great players.

getting murray, lee, tyron is a good start for the future though.

I think after people seen what happened with Ricky Williams and his rookie incentive laden contract...you will not see another one like that for the upper echelon players.

Plus with the new labor deal in place I don't even think it could happen. If a team has to spend a specific amount/percent of revenue shared money...giving everyone vet minimums with incentives would not pay that much out in many cases.

In other words the idea in theory might sound good but it is not realistic at all and would never happen for a whole team.

They need to fine players who commit penaltys, turn the ball over, miss blocks etc. The guys on this team wouldn't have a paycheck left. I know it will never happen but i'd love it though. Wow I have no mercy!

So, make it a "dominating win" bonus, above and beyond the set % of revenue. That would be the best return on incentive pay that you'll ever get. It must apply to ALL team members, based solely on a significant margin of victory. A close win results in ZERO bonus.
