Monster game from Witten this week

Signs are pointing to it if you ask me:

- Witten's prior success vs. Philly

- Philly's blitzes leaving Witten in single coverage.

- Witten's disappointment at the end of last week's game.

- Jeremiah Trotter couldn't cover his mouth, let alone Jason Witten.

He was open last week against the run-blitzing Raiders and he should still be open this week.

Start off throwing to this guy! Make Philly totally gun shy about blitzing. Make those DB's cheat up from deep coverage and get those backers off the OL and Julius. Teams cheat the run when Julius is in the backfield-- make them pay for it!

I agree. We need to go to Witten early and often, that will open things up for everyone else.

Depends on what Philly does on D. Whatever they do we need to hit their soft spot.

It depends on the gameplan - of both teams.

Kansas City kept Gonzalez in to block on most plays, in order to buy more time for Trent Green to go downfield. It worked, Kennison was able to get behind Lito Sheppard for a large gain. But it also took away their best weapon in the passing game.

Oakland targetted the Philly linebackers, going often to both Lamont Jordan and Courtney Anderson (who had a big game).

On the other side...

The Eagles defense kept their safetys back vs. Oakland to prevent big plays.

They used both Dawkins and Michael Lewis to cover Crumpler at times vs. Atlanta, limiting him to 54 yards and no TDs (still a pretty good game).

IMO, the Cowboys will try to go to Witten, and use Cambell and Jones as extra blockers when in max protect. The Eagles will counter by leaving Michael Lewis on Witten, and Lito Sheppard one-on-one with Keyshaun and Glenn (the right hand WR on any given play). In the red-zone, Dawkins will cover Witten.

I think he'll still have a good game, but more like 5 catches, 60 yards or so. Hopefully, no TDs.

Agree, Bledsoe didn't get all those yards by not correcting the error of his ways, HE WAS OPEN LAST WEEK AT THE GOAL LINE AND HE WOULD HAVE SCORED, this eek he'll be both again...BB
