The months of gnashing of teeth, and assuming all of a sudden Will McClay, Garret, etc didn't have a clue, was all for nothing.
What happen to Ball he was Melvin Gordon before their was a Melvin Gordon in Wisconsin, ...................hold on Ron Dane was good in college also and sucked in the NFL, nevermind
Not so fast on Melvin Gordon..........just sayin............you heard it here.
Wow Sarge would it be wise for me not to pick up Gordon in my fantasy draft?
He's a two down back and looked meh in the preseason.
Thanks Sarge
So, as expected, the Cowboys (via a 7th rounder or for free) had plenty of choices to backfill and insure the RB corps
Michael
Gray
Ball
Etc
Etc
Etc

Please don't act like that was their plan.
None of the were guaranteed to be cut and none of them can help us right away since we are less than a week from game one.
That's the point. They weren't lying when they said they don't feel an emergency need for RB help...especially as a starter. But they repeatedly said they will keep their eyes open...as with all roster spots but maybe more at RB...so upgrade or reinforce in some small way if the opportunity presents itself.
Yes, I do think they were planning on doing this IF the right player at the right price was available.
And plenty that could subsidize us to varying degrees were available, as expected.
You're welcome to disagree, of course.
But to me,this is not remotely a surprise.....adding someone like T West, Michael, j Gray, Ball, etc. if the price was right, it made total sense.
And none of these guys are World beaters either. They all got waived for some reason or another.
I am ecstatic that we shored up the RBBC but lets not fool ourselves into thinking RB is a strength.
