I mentioned before the season start that as giddy as we all maybe with Moore, he is a 2nd year coach and first year OC...although he may have a bright future, he is got a learning curve, and NFL DCs will school him a few times during the season.

"..Zimmer continued to dare Moore to run the ball and he fell for the trap by doing so..." and Moore fell for that trap, by doing exactly that and those little things make the difference in a close game. he got too smart for his own good, running twice close to the end zone. I guess he thought he is crossing Zimmer by running, and they would be expecting a pass...

moore cannot be expected to call a pass every play. as an oc, he has to show confidence in his o-line and zeke. but zimmer did have an answer to our blocking schemes. dak to cooper, cobb and gallup was pretty impressive. it's hard to climb out of holes with steep sides like 14-0.

Too bad he doesn't have a competent mentor he could rely on.

Exactly, in critical situations it would be nice to have a HC that knew what to do. Truth is Garrett is probably a bit more a clueless than Moore. An Old blind man leading a young blind man who still has a chance to see. He's going to ruin Moore if anything.

To me there's a dilemma here.

Moore has been surprisingly good, at least to me, this year. I expected a lot more growing pains than this but in his first year as a OC, he has an offense that can normally churn up yards, score some points and Dak clearly has trended upwards compared to 2017 and 2018.

Moore may have real potential as an elite OC and maybe HC someday if he continues this.

But he's also tied to this HC and frankly, there is no reason Garrett should get an extension unless this season takes a drastic shift. And if he has to go at season's end, the entire staff has to be purged most likely, including Moore.

But I feel hesitant letting Moore walk. Hmmm..................

I don't disagree, I didn't mean it to come across that we should pass all the time, but its game by game, adjusting to what the other team is doing and taking advantage of what's working and forcing the issue on the other team. in this case zimmer fooled him into continuing to run and in the end, he ran at the wrong time....

blame who you want.....Moore regardless of mentor, will make mistakes...all OCs do as part of their growth process.

with that said, none of the coaches coming from Bilicheck tree have had any success and no one denies Bilicheck's abilities.....

wait, there were people on this board who claimed Jerry has made it clear that Moore is going to run things. and if its not that way, he comes to Jerry directly!!!!….

but I agree with you, he has been better than expected, but struggles and mistakes are to be expected.....

moore is got a few more years to go before he is ready for HC position....

Exactly. Moore and Columbo are younger coaches but both have shown promise. Everyone else, except possibly Richard can be upgraded. This team needs to invest in two star DTs and not worry about resigning Byron.

He'll, is even throw Darien Thompson next to Woods and dump Heath and Crawford after this year. Keep the attacking D and don't worry so much about position flex.

I should have been clearer as to not cause any confusion. I am in no way suggesting that they consider Moore for HC if Garrett is let walk this offseason.

It would be great if they brought in a HC who saw the potential in Moore and kept him.

Richard can go too.

very true ive said that all week,

however more needs MOORE creative run plays ie disguise them better for the luv of God use more screens and tosses etc to back off aggressive defenses..hes been creative in getting this passing game on track but uses the outdated same old run formations and didnt even use a fullback most of the game.. more 2 back sets with pollard and run plays that actually help get both into more space etc.. the oline was getting beat whether it was 6/7/8man fronts just like the Saints/Rams(PO) game when the D is better then your Oline , you have to get them off balance , just lie the Vikings did, they BTW ie Cook only had 3.8YPC in the run but destroyed us in the pass game , his backup was better runner..they obviously got us off balance..

we need to really make them pay for daring us to pass by not passing the way they think, get them moving and guessing on where the run/Screen/RPO is going ..Moore called near perfectly balanced run/pass on first down, problem was the run plays just were the wrong ones..

he is learning and for his sake he best use Zeke and Pollard much better..all he has to do is look at how the Viking and San Fran use their runners..

The Head Coach has been learning on the job for 10 years.

Problem is he hasn't learned anything.

Moore is really, really young. Again, anyone that is surprised by the struggle needs to wake up.

He is constantly learning! Only issue is it's usually what not to do..

We couldn't just stop running the ball during the game and take that away as a focus of the defense, but the two consecutive run calls inside the 10 were ill advised. One I understood. Two back to back I did not.

The cowboys cant win for losing because everything is still tied back to Garrett in the end.

It amazes me how some fans fail to see why garret needs to be fired.

The number one thing he has clearly learned from Garrett is if it's working, scrap it! The plays, the motion, the 1st down play calling was great for 3 games, so they scrapped it....mind numbing.

no no............ if its working, the other team won't be expecting something different. If we run the ball 6 consecutive times to the opponents 5 yards line, we will then throw the ball 3 times. Gotta stay one step ahead.
