Moral victory?

I've read posts lambasting those claiming a moral victory. I don't see anyone claiming a moral victory. We've lost our starting QB, #1 WR, #1 and #2 pass rushers, #1 LB, Mincey for a bit, Scandrick, Starting left guard for a bit and now Lee for a bit and I've probably missed a few others. Yet we played a Drew Brees led team to overtime. Numerous posters are saying Church sucks, Wilcox sucks, Weeden sucks, the LB's suck, Garrett sucks, the running game sucks,, you get the point. Now THAT attitude is laughable.

What's laughable is getting beat by a gimped arm, small QB and a team that is "rebuilding." Weeden is running around with concrete shoes on and falls down if anyone is within 2 yards of him. Weeden does suck and we need to move on from him.

Man, if you think that's laughable, just wait until next weekend!

Gimped arm, small QB named Drew Brees, SMH.

7 months of waiting and the season is over, literally, before it started.

This bunch of rag -tag football players who don't even possess field awareness, are painful to watch.

My point exactly. He's been inconsistent and how many balls did he throw right at our defenders? They are rebuilding. How many rookies did they have on their D that started and saw a lot of playing time?

Brees or no Brees, the Saints are not a good football team and was previously beaten at home by a Jameis Winston led football team. Moral victories are nothing more than losers trying to make themselves feel better by making excuses.

That's the toughest part of it for me to take. Such lofty expectations for this season, and it's detailed two weeks in. I can't imagine it's any easier for those on the inside.

Brandon Weeden isn't very good, but then again that's why he isn't a starting qb. As Parcells used to say, the QB's only job is to direct the team into the end zone, somehow or someway. Weeden has gotten 28 and 20 points the last 2 weeks. Not bad for backup. Backup Matt Hasselbeck got a whopping 16 points yesterday, Jimmy Clasuen got shutout last week, the great Michael Vick got 20 and looked horrible doing it last Thursday. These guys are all backups for a reason, namely, they aren't good enough players to start. Would I be opposed to seeing what Cassel can do? No, but I wouldn't put Brandon Weeden at the top of the list of reasons this team has failed the last 2 weeks.

It sure would be nice if the Dallas defense could get a few stops.

I normally would say, it is something to build on. Well, for Weeden and the passing game. If they stay spread wide and hurry up O a bit more. But the D has nothing, ST's screwed us. I knew that penalty allowing NO a FG instead of a punt, would cost us the game somehow.

We do get D help next week, but may be without Lee, yet again. So does that really help.

A moral victory it is not, just a building block, but without mortar...yet....

It wasn't a moral victory. I don't believe in those.

But I'm not as upset about the loss as I usually would be. As much as some people want to pretend a team should be able to overcome everything, I'm pretty sure Jim Gaffigan got some snaps at LB last night. This team is beyond injured.

It will be a CBS game, I believe. That means Nance and Simms.

The most in the entire league. Seriously.
