IF we lose to Philly and some of you come on this board and claim a moral victory I will hunt you down like a rabid dog...j/k...or not.

This is the NFL...there is NO SUCH THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No more excuses....i'm tired of hearing them. We've waited long enough.

BP has claimed the vets can't make any mistakes because the rookies will make their share of them, what about the coaches??? Countless stupid plays called thus far.

Both Players and Coaches need to buck up and get this thing rolling now! No more excuses, no more blaming rooks (we choose to play them), time to use the talent we have and play like we have nothing to lose...ba11s out, not play to not lose.

Wow...I feel better now :bang2:

It really depends on how we lose (if we indeed lose the game). If we see the same blown coverages by our safeties on the long ball, or our inability to stop the run...then we really have to start wondering what kind of pictures Zimmer has of Parcells and Jones.

There's really not other reason for him to be our DC.

so having agood game against a team thast been to the nfc championships the past 3 years, doesnt give us hope that we can do even better against bad teams? if we lose to the eagles, but bledsoe has 500 yards passing, that isnt a good sign for the future? if we lose, and the defense has 10 sacks that isnt a good sign for the defense? i just dont get all of this crying and whining that is going on 4 ****ing weeks into the ******* season.

If it's not a "W"...it means NOTHING. Do you play sports to come in 2nd place? Why play???

I had hope after week 1 but look where it got us. The hell with hope put some damn W's on the board. If we lose this week to Philly we might as well as chalk up the division and hope for a wild card..IF THAT IS POSSIBLE.

wow more cliches. of course u play to win the game, but that doesnt mean u cant do good things against one of the best teams in the league, and transfer that momentum onto games against the weaker teams...

ya so whats new? did u actually come into this season thinking we wer ethe division favorites? or that we would even win it? This isnt the nfc west pal, the eagles have a strangle hold on the division, us losing to them doesnt kill our season.

If we have 500 yards passing and 10 sacks AND we lose, I will quit watching football entirely.

Just like we transfered the momentum of the 4th qtr from the SF game right into the Raiders game??? No thank you.

Like the cliches? hehe

that is going from a crap team to a good team. beating a ****ty team we were supposed to win doesnt help us out against a team that's actually good. on the other hand if we beat philly and NY then were looking at seattle, and arizona the next two weeks, and you dont think the momentum from those two wins is going to help us crush those two teams?

edit: wanted to add, that barely scratching out a victory against the team who got the #1 pick last year, is supposed to give us momentum? How could anyone possibly think that. if anything it made us question our team even more, especially our defense that was giving up big plays to the worst qb in the league. so we go from that, to one of the most dangerous passing attacks in the NFL, and that is supposed to give us momentum? wow crazy world we live in, all the cliches in the world cant argue that.

Here's an example:
Week 3
NE 23
Pitt 20

Week 4
SD 41
NE 17

Why didn't NE pound SD?

You could find many examples of how what is perceived momentun one week bleed into the next week, and I could show more examples of where it does not...using very good team and games.

This is an endless debate....

ya i'm sure that has nothing to do with Harrison being out against the chargers, and LT beating them like a redheaded stepchild. they also had a lot of deep balls thrown.
to the point though, momentum doesnt guarantee a win. it merely helps. I could give u a bunch of situations where ateam comes off a big win and carries it through the season, or where teams finish a season strong, and then carry that over, and I could also show teams that have done the opposite. but i dont have time to write a research report while at work.. the point is that losing to the eagles, doesnt kill our season. if we lose at the end, ive gotta assume, that is a good benchmark for the rest of the season. Especially with a group of a lot of rookies and young guys, building confidence can have a lasting effect, even if the eagles were to win.

I didn't say we're going to lose this one. I responding to your question about what might happen if we did.

In all honestly I really think we're going to win this one.
