In my humble estimation, this game represented a startling, bewildering regression from the previous, terribly-disappointing season.

I would agree. That’s why it’s so disheartening. Not only did we look like last year but according to EPA we actually were better last year.

I’m not happy with losing but I could get over it and be cool if we competed. But it looked like we regressed.

The only thing that is positive is it is the first game and we can get it figured out. So as I said earlier let’s let the cake bake on defense because I’m still believing we can gel and get it together. The real question is can we get it together in time before we go 0-4. But to your point I feel more disheartened that it looked like 2025. That sucked. And I’m going to complain about that feeling but I’m not convinced this is going to be a year long Eberflus thing. Hopefully in a week we’ll see some progression instead of regression.

The one question I'd ask is...... who thought that Defense could/should of stopped to run?
Does CP like the two non-tackling LB's (and Safety), that appear to be the reincarnation of the Jaylon Smith days?
Whether this was JerryJust Enough Roster Building or whether CP doesn't want a Bobby Wagner.... to secure the middle, giving our stocked Safety Room (and Downs as the Nickle) to play the outside.
I don't know if this is Culture or Players that can't perform (Overshown/Thompson's headless chicken in space).

Someone expected a polished gem and didn't get it. It was week one!

I dont think anyone expected perfection week 1, but what we got was a team completely unprepared to play with a defense that I'm struggling to name even one area they were even adaquate at. They were bullied in the run game, consistently out of position on misdireciton, multiple blown coverages, couldnt contain the QB run, just 2 stops on 3rd down out of 11 attempts, no one could handle the TE, and we could go on.

Honestly was there even 1 area of defensive football that we can build off of last night?

I listen to Voice of the Cowboys after the game--Brad Sham and he said the defense had a ....(ready for this) Communication Issues. Bryan Broddus didn't buy this FOOLS GOLD and replied to Brad Sham with : Then why didn't Giants have the same problem. Cowboys had the entire off season. Sham's reply back was : This was the units FIRST game together. Walk throughs, practices, and meetings are not game situations. Broddus replied back with his same statement then. Then why didn't Giants struggle? Then Bryan stated this was lack of being physical. Cowboys got their face punched in. The Sham agrees with Broddus.

I don’t say this often but broaddus is right. It’s ok to come away from week 1 with things to work on but this is extreme, plus its week 1 for everyone.

I think our HC/OC thought our Defense was better than it was week 1. The game plan should be to keep scoring 30+ points a game, while our defense works on giving up less than 30+ points a game.

Defens gave up less than 30 points, which is a win, in my mind. On Offense, we thought we became a run first team, for some ******* reason, when we have half the teams salary cap in the passing game.

The problem is the offense only had two possessions in the second half because the defense was so inefficiently incompetent they couldn’t get a stop
