PFW's draft analyst, while not as well known to the media as some of the high profile guys, really is very good and has terrific NFL contacts. As I said before, he is Joel Buchsbaum's successor and inherited Joel's network, to a large extent. It's interesting that he is so high on the Cowboys draft, I think. Six teams, including the Cowboys, were given "Outstanding" marks. The others were the Ravens, the Panthers, the Patriots, the 49ers and the Jets...

We don’t like the idea of prematurely assigning grades before the true evaluators are fairly given a chance to show whether their selections were good. There is, however, an art to understanding the value of a player and where a player could be drafted. And an art to making shrewd trades on Draft Day. Based on our analysis of the draft, we will use an abbreviated scouting scale with four terms — outstanding, good, average and questionable — to evaluate draft classes. Specific letter grades will be assigned in PFW’s post-draft print edition, which will be printed next Monday.

Dallas
Jerry Jones was at his best, wheeling and dealing, and being able to land what could be a high first-round pick next year from the Browns and moving back up to secure the pass rusher they coveted. That was impressive. Anthony Spencer could be paired with DeMarcus Ware to bring a ton of pressure off the edges. Investing in their offensive line was wise, and landing James Marten in the third round and Doug Free in the fourth could improve the athleticism on their offensive line and provide much-needed depth. Washington QB Isaiah Stanback is a Jerry Jones type of quarterback, and he should be able to contribute as a receiver and provide depth under center.
Grade: Outstanding

You can say that again. And besides how would anyone know what jerry jones qb looks like. He has pulled so many straws and tried everything.

Its pretty safe to say if he has a right arm and a right hand it would be jerry's kind of qb.

Ironically the one jerry had to be convinced about, and apparently didnt want to see on the field is Tony Romo. And now jerry is telling us every second how smart they were in finding romo.

When jerry talks about football specifics, like scheme or technique I get nervous.

When someone takes him 13 spots before your pick...What the hell does this have to do with anything.

If he would have been there and we passed...Then I might see your point.

I agree it was an odd comment, but it might reflect the fact that some folks, including Nawrocki, think the guy could be a good NFL quarterback, given time. It's pretty clear, though, that the Cowboys don't have that in mind. Maybe it was a poorly phrased attempt to point to Jones being enamored with Stanback's athletic ability... if so, it was poorly done. Still, I do think Nawrocki is a good draft analyst, and in general, I'm glad to see he likes the Dallas draft. I also realize that and a dollar will get you a cup of coffee at many places other than Starbuck's.

I have the feeling Stanback will become a good Z receiver in the NFL, if he can stay healthy. We'll see whether he can get there quickly enough for it to happen in Dallas.
