Romo vs McNabb
Did you know? In McNabb's most accurate year he threw 64% completion percentage. In Romo's most inaccurate year, he threw 64.4%. Both had Terrell Owens. Romo albeit a shorter career so far has a 64.8 average while McNabb has a sultry 58.7% average.
McNabb's best scoring year was with T.O. He put up 31 touchdowns. His 2nd best year was 2001 when he put up 25. After that 2000 when he put up 21. After that, is 19, which he put up last year. Romo had 19ast touchdowns in his first year starting, and had 36 touchdowns last year.
DID YOU KNOW?
Tom Brady didn't break 90 on his QB rating until 2004 (he started since 2001) and has only broken 90 3 times in his career... so much for god on earth. And for the most accurate passer in the history of the game... Until last year he hovered around 60%, and his 7.2 yards per attempt is heavily bolstered by his 8.3 last year, but is still crushed by romo's 8.3 career average.
Tom Brady overshadowed Tony Romo's MVP if not hall of fame year. Brady went 16-0, Romo went 13-3 (1 lose to the patriots), but I maintain heavily that our receiving corp when healthy was equal to if not better than the Patriots. If we would have had Terry Glenn the entire year (big if I know), Romo would have crushed every record Brady set. And would have easily had the most prolific passing year in the history of the game.
Romo's numbers last year were FAR better than any year Brady ever had before last. And yet he is somehow the 6th best qb in the league... I wonder how thats possible...
Did you know? Tony Romo's yards passing is only beaten by brett favre twice. Romo threw for 4211, and Favre has thrown for 4212 (Wow big difference), and 4413 (1995). Favre has never broken 8 yards per attempt. Has a career average of 61.4. Dropping below 60, four times in his career. And has beaten Romo's 36 touchdowns just twice in his career, with 38 and 39.The man also has a career qb rating of 85.7, and has thrown more interceptions than touchdowns 4 times in his career.
Did you know? That Peyton Manning didn't win a playoff game until his 4th year playing? And that he is 7-7 in the playoffs, and until the year where he won the super bowl was 3-6 in the playoffs? How about that he threw 28 interceptions his first year playing and had a qb rating of 71.2
He didn't break 8 ypa until his 7th year in the league. Has thrown 15 or more picks in a year 5 times. And didn't break 63% passing until his 5th year. And hadn't broken 36 touchdowns until his 7th year. And hasn't come close to his record breaking season since.
Romo has the potential to be the best qb of this era.
