More Good News Regarding Frederick?

I just read where the Cowboys plan to keep Travis Frederick on the 53 man roster.

Now, I sort of expected this. Teams have to declare seven players inactive every week so there's no harm in making Frederick one of them; whether it's for a few games or ten games. Similar to what they did with Romo back in 2016.

But the mere fact the Cowboys are keeping him active could also mean they've gotten some positive reports about his recovery timetable, too. Getting T-Fred healthy is objective number one; but it will be so awesome when he gets back out on the field, too.

I know a little bit about GB syndrome and so far am expecting him to be playing way sooner than people think. But I don't think this is necessarily a sign of that -- I believe he has to make the 53 man roster for a day for there to be options on him in terms of IR. I'm not sure of the details on the different scenarios but I know I read somewhere about him having to stay on the 53 for at least a day.

Guillain Barre is self limiting so Fred’s return to action could be in several weeks.

Just curious, who is reporting he’s going on the 53?

I can't find it now, but I remember seeing Stephen Jones saying they will keep Frederick active. It was over an hour ago and now I can't seem to find anything.

If this turns into false news, my sincerest apologies to everyone.

As said in Frederick's statement, "...I am very optimistic about my condition and the immediate future, as I have been told that the illness was detected at a fairly early stage. My doctors have told me that it is not possible to determine a time table for a return to the field right now, but I am hopeful that I will be able to play as soon as possible."

I really do feel that Frederick will be back by week 4 at the latest. His message would have sounded very differently had he and his doctors anticipated that he would need to miss a significant amount of time.

It’s hard to play with partial paralysis. He’d end up looking like Garrett trying to clap-block a defender.

Not that Im suggesting he do so, but the funny thing is I can still imagine him being better than any back ups wed have taking his spot.

Not enough info yet for decision. Good idea to actually wait as long as you need to make a decision. Wish more folks on the board got that

This is not a patient board lol.
