More hype Downs or Barham

Barham is a 4th round pick at a position the NFL is pretty decent at evaluating. Any hype around him is absurd post draft banter.........the same kind occurring among every fan base in the league bragging about who they stole in the later rounds. If one of those 3 guys we drafted in round 4 becomes an above average starter, thats a win.

Obviously Downs is the more hyped player and it's on a national level not just the Cowboy fan bubble.

I don't see any hype on Downs. He was a legit top 4-5 player in this draft.

The truth is when he walks on the field, the defense is automatically much improved over last year.

Outside of injury there's not really anything that can hold Downs down.
His athletic profile is more than what's needed to succeed and his cerebral instincts and film dedication are off the charts.
He may not have the effect on games people are hoping for because of the position but there's no reason he shouldn't be a top 5 safety within 2 seasons.

Barham is a lot more projection.
He's raw at one position and he's not as instinctual at the other that you would like in your MiKE.
That said playing in a fangio style one gap he may not have to be especially early on and they can take advantage of his intensity and motor!
