:starspin Which wide receiver, if either, are the Cowboys more likely to trade for and why? Roy Williams (Lions) or Chad Johnson (Bengals)?

I would rather have Williams. Roy will be entering his 5th season while Chad enters his 8th season. I think both are very good WR but I think Johnson has benefited because of better QB play than what Roy Williams has seen in Det.

Out of the two mentioned, Roy I think will come cheaper, is less of a distraction, and wants to be in Dallas...

I think all signs point to Roy Williams - at least the rumors do.

And I think there's zero chance that the Bengals trade Chad Johnon.

The bungles don't have the cap room to move Chad Johnson and I really don't see him giving money back.

Be nice iceberg. This guy obviously is a gnub to foruming and all that that entails.

BTW. Has anyone else ever posted whilst hopped up on dilaudid? I feel like I could write a book on here right now. Unfortunately, it would just be rambling and would prolly suck. Like 99% of my other stuff on here.

Williams if I was forced to choose.

Personally, I get a WR by way of the draft, continue to develop the stable of young receivers, and pray for good health with Owens.

Roy. I don't think Chad would like playing second fiddle to TO.

Having said that, I believe we will draft a WR to be a #2.

:welcome: to The Zone.

Williams is younger. That alone would make him the better option to trade for.

I do not do much posting on here but love the entertainment and information that I get from just watching.

Anyways I do not see the point in these debates about which of the "available" WR's would you rather have. I would want any one of these players and could make a solid argument for each one of them. So lets not be so picky here and just pray that we get a WR at the level of these Play makers.

Yes, we should be picky as to who we want on the team. You go ahead take whatever, we'll want a young and better player without breaking the bank.

I'd say Roy is the more likely, if either were to actually happen, as I don't believe there is any shot that Chad is playing anywhere but Cincy next year.

That said if you think that Roy isn't going to want a BIG contract at the end of next season, when his current deal is up, then you're niave. So the money isn't even the thing to consider. If you could get Chad now you'd pay him right now the big money.

If you get Roy then sometime during the year, or at the end of the season when he becomes a FA, you're going to pay him big money.

Roy would make more sense for a lot of reasons IMO. He fits the fan base, the trade is a mutual benifit for both clubs, the age is appealing and the desire, on behalf of the player is probably in favor of the trade.

The one thing that might make Oucho more attractive is if Cincy were willing to kick in on the deal financially, in order to get some cap relief. This is very unusual and in truth, you see it more in Baseball and the NBA (not even sure if you can do this in the NFL) but if a trade were structured around a financial agreement with Cincy contributing, then that might make a trade for Johnson more attractive.
