According to the Dallas Morning News, the coaching staff's confidence in rookie DeMarco Murray "grows by the week."
"They really like his upside," says beat writer Brandon George. RBs coach Skip Peete plans to work Murray in "slowly" on third downs, with Tashard Choice handling the role in the mean time. With Felix Jones nursing a shoulder injury, Murray is expected to have a bigger role this week than he has in the first two games.

with all the injuries we have on the offensive side of the ball - we sure could use this kid for a few explosive plays

Personally, I dont see what all of the scouts were talking about when they said he runs straight up. So far, he has seemed to get really low when contact was about to be made. I love his upside

Kind of to the side...I appreciate your continual enthusiasm on Cowboys and it's players.

As to both Murray and Tanner, I'm in both of their camps. I think that Murray will be a quality addition to this roster before the season ends, this season.

He ran upright in his college highlight reel. That's all I had seen of him playing before becoming a Cowboy. You're right, though: I haven't noticed it being a problem in games.

The guy is going to be a beast. He is just feeling his way through now.

thanks CC - when you put as much energy into this team as I do, just like many others around here, it makes it much easier to enjoy it - when you do it with passion, confidence, and enthusiasm! :D

If he can stay healthy hes going to be one heck of a weapon for us.

I think he and Tanner can both be weapons, if we use them in the right way.

maybe the running coach is getting him to stay more low and showing him what happened to Barber. hopefully the coaches are going to make these players do what they need to do and not what they want to do.

One of the criticisms coming out of Oklahoma was that Murray was a running back in a wide receiver's body.

Having said that, this kid has bulked up for sure (good or bad I don't know). He's easily the biggest RB we have the roster right now. I remember reading early in training camp that Murray wanted to get bigger for the inside game of the NFL.

Agreed! It makes the victories sweeter and losses somewhat bearable.

Then just play the dude. I mean, fo' ril. Supposedly, they like every back on the roster -- just not enough to give them the rock more than twice a game.

I picked him up on my fantasy team for a reason. Heck of a sleeper.

With the amount JG likes to run the ball, Murray may be falling a sleep during games.

Terrible. Garret needs to cut the cord from Felix and mix him in the rotation.

It's not Felix Jones fault it's more on the offensive line and their inability to open up wholes.

***, why do people always say, "change the running back?" We've faced two very good front sevens the past couple of weeks. The line did not do a good job of opening holes. Simple as that. Felix will get his production.
