Don't know what to make of Kosier signing. Understand he's been told he'll play OG & with what we paying him ($3M a year) he has to be a starter; don't know what that means to LAbut if LA cut we save $3.5M against the cap. I will assume for now that Ireland & Parcells know what they doing--but hard to believe Allen might be gone.

BUT we still left with need upgrade at RT. Pettiti should improve but can't risk relying on him to improve enough to be legit starting RT; our whole season depends on play of RT.

Ashworth has been mentioned in this forum several times; he can play both OT positions & Scouts.com lists him at #9 in long list. Don't know why Fabini wasn't signed (wanted more money/failed physical/age scared us off ?), but Cowboys certainly rethinking their plans & none of OTs listed before Ashworth on list are realistic/available. Doubt Pats can resign Ashworth cause they already have 2 good RTs & lack cap money. Doubt Cowboys contacted him cause they believed he would resign with Pats. Not pushing Ashworth but want us to sign young OT so we don't need use draft pick on this position at least in early rounds. BTW: What does this say about Peterman's potential?

Frankly, if we get our RT (preferably young guy) & PK (looks like it has to be Vinatieri but frankly I doubt we get him) then FA is successful. These 2 FA signings (along with Kosier?) gives us lot more flexibility in the draft. We can use first pick on OLB (Carpenter, Lawson or Kimbley) & other day 1 picks on FS/ILB/WR. Could use 2nd day for depth at OG (behind Riveria unless we continue use Gurode there) & DT (unless Cowboys convinced Pepper Johnson is potentially good alternating backup to Ferguson) but still think we must add depth (draft or FA).
