Per Gil Brandt of NFL.com, Nkemdiche’s workout on Monday was described as “special” and “rare.”

That’s all well and good, but it won’t be Nkemdiche’s natural talent that has NFL teams concerned come late April.

Once considered a top-five lock in this year’s draft, Nkemdiche’s biggest concerns are off the field, where poor decision-making led to a less than ideal ending to his career at Ole Miss. Nkemdiche wasarrested on drug charges after falling out of a hotel window and subsequently suspended for the Rebels’ Sugar Bowl appearance, announcing shortly thereafter he would leave school early and enter the draft.

There is no question the kid is a freak at his size. And if anyone can get his head screwed on straight you might have a dominant DL on your hands.

But the risk is massive................

If he was sitting there at 34............... I had to admit, I'd be tempted. But we've been burned in the past, most recently Gregory.

Its a pick where trading back up into late 2nd, isn't that far fetched

I think he'd be gone by late 2nd round.

Frankly, I wonder if a team like the Broncos or Panthers or Seattle, sitting there with a late first round pick just takes the risk and grabs him. Blowing that pick wouldn't be a death blow to them but if they hit on it, would be a huge windfall for them.

IMO Dallas filled in a big spot inside by signing thornton. I dont see where Nkemdiche would play. Where he would impact. This type of signing makes no sense in terms of snaps for the production or the headache after gregory issue.

Id rather have a combination of Jack(RD1), Dodd(RD2), and Judon(RD4) that would greatly improve this front 7.

Dodd is a SDE that IMO is just as disruptive as Bosa with less headlines. Judon is going to be a a great pick for somebody IMO. People are going to point at his competition, but they can do the same for Wentz. Judon destroyed his compitition. And Jack i just think is going to be a star for somebody why not Dallas. Weighing 241lbs he can def play SAM. Those trying to question his ability to play the run and take on blocks have clearly not watched this kid play.

We play a rotation at DT so I can see him getting snaps and I could also see him coming into his prime once Thornton's contract is up. That is basically a two year deal and Hayden is in his 9th year and only has a one year deal. Jack Crawford has been in the league for 5 seasons and has shown very little.

I could see us taking him if he were there. He is a 1st round talent and probably top 10.

The talent would be hard to pass up at 34 but there are huge risks. Not just the off field stuff but motivation to be great

Why risk it for a guy who obviously cant make the right decisions? The NFL is cracking down on guys like this and putting them out of commision. Dallas is learning this with Gregory. If the NFL was about the underwear olympics i would agree. But when he has the pads on his is average. He's been all hype since coming out of highschool. He has 16 TOL and 6 sacks in 3 yrs. Top 10 for Canadian football league maybe. But for NFL he is really overrated.

If this guy is as capable as everyone thinks he is, finding a position for him should be the least of a team's problems.

Any system that can't find a way to make use of a guy who's considered one of the premier college talents is a system that I don't want any part of.

That said, I doubt Dallas takes on another rehab project.

Broncos did draft Shane Ray last year who got busted for pot after the combine.

Went to law school at Ole Miss so have seen most of his games. I have gone back and forth and at one point would have been happy with him in the second. But ultimately his game tape isn't great. There were SEC games that he took over and was by far the best player on the field. But there were far too many games that he disappeared and was dominated by lesser talent. That combined with the character issues would make me pass.

I am scared of this guy,he seems to be a bigger risk than Gregory who was just a pothead but this guy seems dumb and unrepentant.

If is a risk but the entire draft is a risk. It's risk reward and with him, the reward is worth the risk IMO. JMO
