Come on, I don't care how many beers or drinks you have had....stand up and give Mo a standing O.
Well deserved too. Not just for this game but so far for this year.
With law returning, expect more picks.

I just watched the game. Because of my work schedule, I can't watch on Sundays and have to wait till Monday night. Mo has developed into a quality corner. He makes plays. Corner is one of the toughest positions to draft. A lot of us were saying Mo was a bust, but he's come of his own. His interception bailed out Butler for his boneheaded penalty.

Some players take time for things to click. We always talk about QBs but it took several years for Dez to become Dez. Doug Free didn't start for his first two and a half years in the NFL. Terrell McClain is in his sixth NFL season and didn't start a game in the last four seasons - but he was probably our best DL for the first four games.

If Claiborne had the light go on in his fifth NFL season, he wouldn't be the first to follow that path.

At this rate claiborne is prolly gonna make 8-10 million a year next year. CB's are just too valuable nowadays

He wouldn't be fans aren't that patient. And neither or teams but I think what helped Mo is that he looked good enough last year to warrant at least another look.

There is no coincidence that him actually having a training camp this year and a preseason is the year he's having his best pro career. That stuff does matter in this league especially for young players.

I'm happy for him. He came in with hype and had to live up to it. Got healthier and got bigger but I wonder how much credit goes to the new secondary coach....this whole secondary is playing better. Some will say its the competition but I don' think anyone even last year expected our secondary to look good against ANYONE.

Mo, and late bloomers like him, are the reason teams like to pick up former first rounders who have disappointed their original teams. There's an underlying talent waiting to be realized. He may never reach the level he was projected to reach but I admire him for battling to get to this point,,, and who knows, health willing, he may just become the badass we hoped for!

Great point, I think there are several reasons the secondary is a lot better -

1 - Claiborne has made a big jump in performance, obviously.

2 - Claiborne being able to play against #1 WRs has let Carr play against lesser WRs, which is exactly where he should be. Carr is a pretty good 2/3 CB but a very poor #1 CB.

3 - Byron Jones hasn't made a lot of flashy plays but he is doing a lot of things well. He is doing all the little things right that Wilcox was doing wrong.

4 - They should limit the time Church spends in coverage as much as possible and Jones playing deep lets Church play in the box, which is better for both of them. That positioning is way, way better than Church and Wilcox playing deep.

5 - The coaching is probably a big part of it like you say.

Mo's played well this season and was very good today. Good on him for playing that ball in the air well and making a play because he was clearly beaten on that play. Any decent QB would have led his receiver with that throw.

The QB was trying to keep the ball inside because of the S help, but even so, Mo enters the screen stride for stride and immediately looking for the ball which he then adjusts to and catches.

It was pretty good coverage that looks like he was beat early because he's already tracking the ball.

That's also a good point. I forgot that Byron is out there at safety more this year. That probably in itself dose wonders. I really like Byron Jones. I don't think the stats are out there but even when eh is caught on he is right there.

I do want to know on that deep ball to Torry Smith I wonder where was the other safety at. I wonder what defense they were in. Seems like Byron had to chase him down from the other side of the field.

I think with him its sort of a reset. He's no longer he 6th overall pick in the draft he's now the 1 year 4 million dollar corner.

And this offseason when people were saying Mo probably is what he is I did bring up what happened with Carlos Rogers when he went to a better team with a better secondary coach. It happens in this league.

I really wish this team could find those defensive linemen that were ex-top 10 picks and let Maranelli do his magic with them as opposed to trying to find some undrafted guys.

I think Mo has had a hard time coming back from injuries and loss of confidence at times. Thus far he is playing very well, I think his play will continue to improve as he gains more and more confidence. I do not think this being a contract year has anything to do with his improved play, I think it comes down to health.
