Mort: Jalen Carter is going in the top 10

I really hope he doesn't get past the Bears at 9.

I don't want to sit here watching the Eagles trotting out Fletcher Cox, Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter while we're fielding Osa, Hankins and Gallimore.
Jerry not picking DT in round 1 ( even at 26 )

Mortensen, and Mel for that matter, said today on ESPN's McShay mock draft show that Jalen Carter is a lock top 10 pick with Mort saying worst case scenario Philadelphia won't pass on him. That isn't just his opinion, it's what he's being told.

With his connections around the league that's good enough for me.

I didn't expect a free fall but some did. This should put that to rest.
It would be funny if Philly drafts Carter with his baggage and we draft Kancey and end up with the better player. Not saying Kancey will be the better player (or that we'd even consider drafting him), just that I'd love for that to happen.

No doubt, your scenario really highlights just how big the Watkins loss was!
The Ridgeway loss is probably worse. There's no way you can keep losing player like those two and hope to continue to compete.

I watched some film on offensive guys last night. They happened to be matched up against Jalen Carter at times. Dude, JC was exceptional. WOW!

I have been critical of his offseason and yes it still worries me. BUT as a football player, this guy looks like a man amongst boys. If he applies himself, the team that gets him will be very fortunate indeed.

I just never understood why we exposed him. I know teams have to make decisions and sometimes you lose a guy grievously but goodness I think we could have done things differently so as not to expose a player you just spent a pick on at a position of dire need.

The boys screwed the pooch on him. Tried to be cute and blew it.

Just curious.......what would it take to move up to #9???? Our 2023 1st, 2nd, 2024 1st, and 3rd .....maybe throw in Gallup?

Honestly hadn't thought about this much but I'm starting to see a lot talk of Carter to the Eagles and it's ticking me off.
I know I'm a minority but if he drops to the Bears........we should at least have a conversation about moving up and STEALING him from the Eagles. We all have said for the first time in many years, we are well covered/prepared for this draft. This kid would make our D top 3-5 right out of the gate. Hell, I would argue his presence would improve the secondary to where maybe we don't have to invest $20M to keep Diggs. Trade him......after this season. Build the D around this kid and Parsons
