Mosher: Thinks Jerry is contemplating a big move/trade on defense

I really dont want to make a splash trade but Edge has to be on the teams radar. Yes we need LB / DB but Edge is the most glaring hole on the team.
Then why spend a first on a pass rusher, is Maxx ready to drop in coverage

True, they need a plan in place. If they have a successor in place they can eat as much of his remaining cap hits now which means they can backload some of those other deals for when Dak is gone.

On the flip side if they think Dak will age well they could even look at getting him another extension in place soon which could significantly lower his 2027/2028 cap hits and give you extra years to delay that pain.

Both paths have good arguments, but at some point within the next 9 months the cowboys probably need to choose one.
Truth is, Jerry was extremely lucky to strike lightning on Romo AND Dak. Romo was a free agent and Dak a 4th-rounder passed over in favor of two other QBs. He was a 3rd stringer on into the preseason behind Romo and Kellen Moore. In other words, Jerry has not evaluated and drafted a high-level QB since Aikman, over 30 years ago.

To hope he can contribute this year but to act like he is going to get 10 sacks and solidfy the edge is a pipe dream, even if we were picking in the top 5.

But at what amount to trade for him sheesh, do we even have a first to give them. I'd say maybe a 2nd next year and a 2nd the following year that could maybe turn into a first
That would be an amazing deal for the Cowboys but I would be shocked if Crosby was traded for anything less than atleast 1 1st rounder.

I think they are prioritizing their core.........remember they also signed Davis and now Carter. I'm guessing Jihaad and Buan were prioritized over giving Dean a new deal. Also, notice they used a high draft pick on WR and moved on from AJ Brown. Just me, but this next year they could have new QB ( moved on from Hurts). I hate to say it but Roseman is 2-3 steps ahead most GMs and certainly Jerry Jones.
Howie has mastered one thing…build up the trenches. And he finds offensive llnemeh in all rounds. He knows what it takes to build a contender. Find the trenches and everything eise falls into place. His track record of finding receivers isn’t the best but he knows how to find the trenches and then it allows him to be able to trade up for Devonta or trade for AJ when you have all pro linemen you find in the 7th round. There’s a lot of ways to skin a cat…Howie’s way is a smart way:

Well, he hasn’t participated in any drills so far in the offseason following meniscus surgery in January. He is cleared to practice in training camp.

Thats just crap this Crosby talk. Jerry trys to stay in conversation as always.

We drafted #41. OK he sucks. So we needed to spent another pick on Machavelli Lawrence or whatever his name is.
We also signed Gary as a run stopper.

So now we trade for Crosby ?

I honestly wonder who is that kind of stupid to even come up with those ideas?!

That's a team on the decline, not 2-3 steps ahead.

Honestly, no.

But they certainly didn’t improve by trading away their best receiver either.
They didn’t but AJ wanted out because of his relationship with Jalen. Under the circumstances they made out decent the cap hit they took from it they made up for it when re-signing Davis and Carter.

Just realized that this is "All-In" 2: Electric Boogaloo.

And Jerry didn't do the evaluation then either. Lol

I'd go offensive tackle myself but I'm right there with you on edge as a close second.
