Midweek Beastlines: Cowboys
October 14, 2009 10:55 AM

Posted by ESPN.com's Matt Mosley

David Moore of the Dallas Morning News says the Cowboys are getting "two-minute drilled." Also a nice reference to the song "Norwegian Wood."

Bill Nichols and the immortal Rudolph Bush team up for a story on Allen Rossumsigning with the Cowboys -- and some other items.

Calvin Watkins of ESPNDallas.com says the Cowboys are sending a messagewith the signing of Rossum.

Miles Austin has been named NFC offensive player of the week.

ESPN's Michael Smith has an emotional E:60 story on Cowboys outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware.

The piece on ware is awesome.

this team has some great people. Its too bad the owner and the national media always make this group out as some villains and sell them like movie stars. There are some really great people in that locker room.

WOW. Unreal. My wife had to have a DNC in her 1st pregnancy (twins), but we were lucky enough to have 2 healthy babies afterwards.

There are that is why guys like Witten and other players in the league went to Goodell because many are tired of the image of the NFL being nothing but thugs and it is important to show the NFL is not turning a blind eye to bad behavior by the members of the NFL.

Yes it was a great piece. He is a great guy, the NFL should be talking more about guys like this instead of guys like Pacman.

tough to sell controversey on national radio shows and all day long tv shows on espn with, that demarcus ware and bradie james....they are home changing diapers and being responsible adults.....

its much easier to promote the pacmans in the world. Everyone will draw a line on those guys. You have the one side that thinks the guy is a worthless piece of crap and you have the other side that thinks he is keeping it real and being beat down by the man.

Its not like people take sides on witten or ware. Everyone understands they are tremendous human beings.

By the way, after that Ware video plays, check out the Cosh video to the right. He is the QB for Arundel (High School in my area). The kid is sick.

Increadible faith, and a great piece. Brings to light the fact that we see guys play on Sundays and rip 'em or praise 'em. We don't know a thing about what they may be going through personally.

Don't blame the media, they only do what sells. They give us what WE the consumers want, and fact is that the average person wants to hear the negative stuff more than the positive.

It's unfortunate.

It seems like it has been that way forever. If thugs got taken out of the limelight that would bother me a bit.

Exactly. It's bad enough for someone to go through that experience once, but 3 times.......

It was actually talked about on the side at the time, as he took a couple days leave of absence for personal problems and then it came out that his wife had a miscarriage.

But no one at the time knew it was her 3rd one.

Williams, out because of bruised ribs last week, said he will be ready for the Cowboys' game against Atlanta on Oct. 25. Being a Cowboys fan was tougher than he thought.

"Watching them on TV was nerve-racking," he said. "I was yelling at the TV, yelling at the players, yelling at Troy Aikman."
