his newest one is up...he has us taking Felix Jones at 22 (says the toe injury will be concern with Stewart)...has us taking Brandon Flowers at 28...at 30 he has the Packers taking safety Kenny Phillips but says "Dallas may take him at 28"

"bleepin'" terrible!

absolutely terrible!

For a guy who brags about how right he's been regarding recent Cowboys' draft picks, I couldn't hope for him to be more wrong.

:banghead:

In fact, I hope he's as wrong as he's been about Pacman!

I like Brandon Flowers, but I hate Felix Jones. Overall this mock draft sucks

I'm not sure what people expect if we stay at 22 & 28...Rick Gosselin has his first positon rankings up, and Felix Jones is the 4th rated RB and Brandon Flowers is the 5th rated CB...Kenny Phillips is the top rated safety on his board...Mayock has it exactly the same as Gosselin for those 3...Kiper has Felix Jones 3rd, but I cant see his CB or S ratings because you have to be an Insider

People lock in on their pet players and if they arnt taken, they think its a failure...I'm not really sure what people are looking at when they say they cant stand Felix Jones, because almost everyone has him rated as a 1st rd pick and almost everyone has him rated the 4th best back in the draft

They problem with most of these mock drafts is that they have us staying at 22 and 28. I'm not saying that because I want them gone for DMac:D , but I also think that trading one for a vet WR is a good possibility. I hope we don't trade down, but one way or another, I just don't see us sitting pretty w/ the two picks. JMHO

Because Felix Jones is no better than Julius Jones and Julius Jones was a 2nd rounder. Name me one thing that Felix Jones is better than Julius Jones. If we wanted a runner like Julius we might as well kept him. Lets spend our first round picks on better players. Just because a player is ranked 4th doesn't mean they are a 1st rounder. Stewart, Mcfadden and Mendenhall are the only RB's worthy of being picked in the first round. Plus this draft is so deep on RB's that you don't need to reach for a player like Felix Jones in the first round.

People are hilarious. They say they want a compliment to Barber with a 'wow" factor, and Felix Jones fits that description to a t and is almost universally heralded among scouts, but we've decided we don't like him. Why? Because he's lacking the key essentials that make all rb's great ... bench press numbers. Great. What do you think the over under is on games watched by the average Fellix Jones basher? Zero or One?

In this draft he has us passing on Stewart and Cason for Jones and Flowers. Two guys with first round grades being passed up for two guys who should go in the second as far as i am concerned.

i would be very mad if that happened.

I'm not crazy about Jones and if given the choice I'd take the injured Stewart ahead of Felix, but i guess I'd be OK with Felix at #28. Flowers I'm OK with, at #61 but CERTAINLY NOT @ 28.

jones isnt bad but hes in the league of CJ, Charles and Rice. Hes a second round talent. Stewart is faster bigger, much more powerful and more refined in the passing game.

Oh and watching football on television is not scouting.

everybody has a higher grade on Felix Jones than what people had on Julius Jones

.

Well aside from being vastly more productive and explosive against far better competition, having more foot quickness and probably better vision, I guess not much

Thats your opinion isnt it? It's not one that alot of people share though

hows it a reach if he's rated there? Are your privvy to soem information that the Cowboys and the other 31 teams have, but we dont?

Stewart certainly doesnt look faster than felix Jones when I watch the games...

as for being like CJ, Charles and Rice, I'll take Jones' combination of athletic talent and quality production vs the SEC over those other guys every day of the week

Good post. I've been wondering why people have soured on Felix so much and this post just reminded me of his bench performance at the combine. Whatev, his bench numbers don't concern me much.

I'd be happy w/ Felix at 22 or 28.

Except he didnt bench press at the combine

Flowers is not worth our 28th pick, in my opinion, and I am biased towards VT.

Of the Corners with mid-late first round grades, he would probably be the one I would be most mad with.

i realize that a lot of people have Jones as the 4th rated RB but I see a drop off in talent from the first three to the next 4. jones played one game without DMac and he fumbled the ball a few times and was awful. Other than that he got most of his carries with DMac on the field and bounced them outside. Hes a willing inside runner but hes just not very good at it.

Charles played in the Big12 and was the primary back at Texas. Thats not inferior competition.

CJ and Charles are better inside runners than Jones, have shown they can carry the load, are better athletes than Jones, and have more experience in the passing game. Rice is more of a complete back than Jones can ever be.

As for what the teams actually think you have no idea. its also no consensus that Jones is the 4th best back. NFLDraftScout has him 5th as does Boyleheart.

Wheter hes 4th 5th or whatever is immaterial as far as i am concerned hes not a good value in the first round especially at 22. Id rather wait and get one of the second tier RB in the second round.

Drives me nuts. Every year. People think if we don't get their exact guy, the draft is a failure. Other than the truly insane picks (Tony Dixon), people need to realize that there's no one perfect pick at each spot. And that they haven't seen nearly as much of these players as the professionals have.

I have my doubts about Felix, but he'd be one heck of a fun player to watch. Talk about being a terror in the open field.
