He had them ordered, but as he talked about them he didn't seem to be following the way they were numbered. So I'll just list them. Hope I heard this all right, but if I didn't, he'll blog it soon.

-- Kyle Wilson. Thinks he's the pick if he's there... But knows he probably won't be.

-- Devin McCourty.

-- Charles Brown. Says they'll have a hard time not taking him if he's there.

-- Jared Odrick. This is the name that's really gaining steam. Cowboys really like him.

Not new names, obviously. And I think I might have missed one, maybe. But thought I'd pass it along since Mosley is wired Valley Ranch football.

Hmm interesting with Charles Brown. He's likely to be there when Dallas is on the clock. Didn't really think he fit the prototype size for the Cowboys OL.

He had been mentioning Nate Allen lately, but apparently not today. Hmmm.

Interesting that Brown's name was mentioned. That's who Kiper has them taking.

I hope I didn't miss one, but from where I caught the segment, I may have. I know I was surprised there wasn't a safety mentioned, too.

I did think the Brown name was the most interesting part since there's mixed opinion on whether he's worthy at 27 or not.

Dallas Cowboys

Now that Jerry Jones has released left tackle Flozell Adams and safety Ken Hamlin, there's more of a sense of urgency at those spots in the draft. The Cowboys will replace Adams with Doug Free, but they could still take an offensive tackle or guard at No. 27 overall. Safety Nate Allen and cornerback Devin McCourty are two players the Cowboys really like late in the first round.

There's a belief that safeties Alan Ball and Mike Hamlin could get the job done in a pinch, but the Cowboys will focus on that position in the draft. Last year's approach involved saving money -- if you can believe that. The Cowboys' first picks were Nos. 69 and 74. The only true impact player from the '09 draft was kickoff specialist David Buehler. In this year's draft, the Cowboys need to select players who can have a more immediate impact. If an offensive tackle starts to slip in the first round, don't be surprised if the Cowboys are there to catch him.

In the past, the Cowboys have emphasized need over value out of necessity. In this year's draft, I think staying at No. 27 and going with the best value is what the Cowboys are trying to accomplish. Releasing Hamlin and Adams certainly changed the dynamic heading into the draft, but it also provided some clarity.

I dont know who reported it, but several weeks ago Brown's name was mentioned as somebody the Cowboys really liked.

The Cowboys seem to like those OTs who need to bulk up in the weight room.

1st Free. Now Charles Brown who put up only 21 reps.

I've seen him in alot of draft guides as a guy with a late 1st/2nd rd grade, so I suppose 27 isnt that much of a reach. Some of the reviews on him are quite positive and many seem to think he has alot of upside.

Charles Brown..lol this guy is awful. I can't believe they actually like him. Itwould be a joke to take him in the first. Complete bust.

But then again they really like Cory Proctor, so Charles Brown would fit perfectly with this staff.

This coming from a guy who changes his free agent wish list more than a mother changing a baby's diaper....

And exactly how does that relate to my statement?

I really don't think they go with Brown. He's too much like Free, they don't need two finesse type LTs that need to bulk up and get stronger.

Odrick at 27? I have a hard time taking a 3-4 DE at that spot when there are potential future starters at CB, S and OT still on the board. Besides we're 4 deep at that positon with solid/good players.

I think we take a CB or OT at 27.

Brown is a kid with a ton of athletic ability and high character. If the Cowboys like Free as much as they say they do, Hud Houck can take his time and develop Brown the right way. I'd like the pick.

That would be a huge shocker if Allen is there late in the 2nd.
