Romo is one of nine quarterbacks who have 25+ games with a rating of 100 or better since 2009. The others are Rodgers, Brady, Brees, Rivers, Ryan, PManning, Flacco, and Schaub.

Since 2009, when Romo puts up a 100 rating or better in a game, the Cowboys win 63% of the time (19-11).

When the other eight quarterbacks put up a 100 rating or better, their teams win 88% of the time (266-36). Check out this list:

Most 100-Rating Games since 2009 (team win % in those games)
Rodgers 43 (.837)
Brady 41 (.902)
Brees 40 (.875)
Rivers 33 (.879)
Ryan 30 (.933)
Romo 30 (.633)
PManning 29 (.931)
Flacco 27 (.851)
Schaub 26 (.846)

In other words, based on the last five seasons....
In a 16-game season, if these QB had a 100 rating in every game, their teams would finish 14-2 on average.

If Romo did it, the Cowboys would finish 10-6.

Cross-reference these stats with the amount of pro-bowl players each of these QBs have had on their team and see who ranks where.
Romo, Rivers, and Schaub have to be at the bottom.

Yep.................unless Romo plays a dam near prefect game..............we lose.

There are at least 4 games in there where our head coach blew the win.

Thats what is so sad.......................its like we have to play the other team and our own head coach at the same time.

How many other teams in the NFL can point to 3 or 4 games where the head coach played a significant role in the loss?

It is sad. And not as many as ours.

I'm curious to see his rating by quarter and the score by quarter in the loses to see where the problem is or if this is one of those stats that is misleading?

Any team that's not undefeated has fans that blame the HC. Denver fans blamed Fox for losing to Indy. Fans here in Seattle did the same with Carroll. When I lived in Chicago, there were people and media blaming Lovie for every single loss. Shoot, even the day after the Red Sox won the Series, a fan called into a local Boston radio station complaining about all the bad moves the manager made. You have a lot more company than you think.

This. It's as common as the cold virus. And plain silly. Those who always are blaming coaches (especially play-calling) are broadcasting their own foolishness. Certainly coaching decisions are a factor, but not nearly as much as off-the-farm fans think.

It's not a misleading stat. What the stat shows is that Tony Romo has the worst supporting cast out of all those QBs, which is something we all knew. Over the past years he's had a terrible defense, running game, offense line, and coaching. If Romo doesn't have a good game, then chances are we lose, even then it's still only a 6/10 chance of winning.

But...how many are SPOTLIGHT games.

That's how Romo is judged by some here.

Yea its kind of funny........you read other message boards you'll notice that everyone thinks their head coach sucks lol. Even 9ers fans question their coaching at times.

The difference is that our Head coach actually does suck and costs us games...

As Percy's rounding the bases with another tape measure shot, I'll just add that I am very surprised to see Flacco on this list.

This list proves what I've been saying. Romo has a hand stacked against him in Dallas. The Cowboys haters aren't interested in that. They just want to hate. They don't care about an honest evaluation of Romo. A lot of Cowboys fans don't know any better.

Thanks for posting Percy .... Very telling research

and when that continued to show the same thing you would ask for more until you find something to criticize Romo for.

Passer ratings aren't weighted by quarter, so for example if a QB has a 70 rating through 3 quarters, and then a 120 rating in the 4th, his game rating will still reflect how he did in the whole game. Also, passer rating isn't like the "game winning drive" or "4th quarter comeback" stat, where a QB can stink it up through 3 quarters and get credit for a win. The average team wins 80% of the time when its QB had a 100+ rating for the game. Key word here is "average." Teams that don't win as much as 80% of the time are below average teams.

Here are Romo's numbers by quarter in these games.
1st quarter: 54 of 82 608 4 0 104.1
2nd quarter: 60 of 82 725 7 0 128.4
3rd quarter: 51 of 82 647 6 1 106.1
4th quarter: 89 of 129 1331 12 2 127.1

TOTAL: 254 of 375 3311 29 3 117.8

And remember, Dallas lost all of these games.

That answered my question what I was looking for. His production goes way up in the 4th Quarter that's absolutely amazing. But goes back to the game plan and how pathetic JG is as a coach. You have a QB putting up those kind of #s yet you only win 60% of the time? Something is really wrong there.
