I applaud Garrett for going out and finding the kind of players with a strong work ethic, great intangibles, and quiet, bring your lunchpail, and get the job done.
However, when too many players fit that mold, there is no highly charged personality that becomes the team motivator. Pacing up and down the sidelines, firing up his team to fight during a seeming blowout and come back to win it all.
Yes, I'm thinking of Michael Irvin in the 90's, but there is a strong possibility that Dez could emerge as that kind of player if he matures a bit.
I also think Witten might find that kind of fire in his DNA and get this team going. Brooking seems to reserve his pep talks for before the game, not during.
Do you think there are players on the roster who will fit that mold? (If so, who???) Or do we need to find some?
