Most Dangerous Team in the NFC?

Yup. I really think that Dallas is the most dangerous team in the NFC right now. I mean, who really would want to face us (especially if we were to make the playoffs)? We've shut down the best offenses this league has to offer (not to mention the league's best backs in LT, Portis, Barber, and Alexander) in consecutive weeks. It's no fluke anymore. All week everyone said this would be our biggest test, because Seattle had the most balanced offense we've faced yet, etc.

But we shut Alexander down. We kept their passing game in check. We limited them to 13 points. Only 1 team has scored more than 19 points against us since the season opener. Scary thing is, we'll get better. We are still learning a new system (3-4) with new players (many of whom are still learning how to play in the NFL).

Yesterday's loss was heart-breaking, and it's the second gut-wrenching loss we've suffered this year (I think the Washington game was more painful, though). Still, I love this team. I really do, and I've enjoyed this season more than any of the past decade. We've looked really bad over the years, and oftentimes (even during the 2003 playoff season) when we lost, we would lose BIG. There's nothing more disappointing than spending a week anticipating a game, reading the pregame analysis, talking about it on the net, only to turn off the game by the middle of the 3rd quarter because of a blowout.

This year is different. We're an awfully talented team, but we're going through growing pains. Let's face it: this team is built to be competitive in 2006. It's tough to ask a team to start a new QB, learn a new defensive system (and ask the coaching staff to learn it, too), and to have 7-8 rookies play significant time at important positions (RT, RB, DE, DT, LB) and expect it all to come together perfectly and quickly. I think we're an off-season away from becoming a legit SB contender. We need depth (particularly at OL) and youth and speed (at WR), and our recent spat of injuries have revealed our deficiencies at both.

But make no mistake. I still think we're legit contenders this year. We've shown we can play with (and even dominate) the best teams in this league, and are afraid of no one. And, with a little luck, I believe we can make it deep into the playoffs. And I seriously doubt anyone of us will be turning off our TVs prior to the final gun in any of our games this year.

Still, this team is learning some harsh lessons, but it's resilient, and I honestly believe that no one wants to face us at this point, b/c they know our defense will keep us in games till the very end, and our offense, while inconsistent, still possesses a veteran passing attack combined w/ a young and skilled running attack capable of putting up points against good teams like Philly and SD.

4-3 teams are hardly considered dangerous. Maybe if it makes you feel better.

Our O managed 16 points last week and 10 points this week. Is that dangerous???

Get off of it already he's trying to be positive and I agree with him 100% why do you have to be so negative all the time you seem more like a TROLL than a cowboy fan. Granted we haven't scored much the past two weeks but at the same time every team in the NFL knows we can at any time once our O gets clicking and our D can shut anyone down. I like our chances. Think positive you'll live longer....

Sure, if you look at the record, you won't consider us dangerous. But I think NFL teams don't look at the record, they look at game film. We've lost 3 games this year, and in two of those games we were dominant till the last two minutes.

Basically, I believe we gave those games away. We had mental errors and let the other teams come back. But the fact remains is, we have dictated nearly every game we've played this year. Not one team has got the better of us to date, and only mental lapses have kept us from a better record. Turnovers, missed FGs, penalties, etc. These are things which have lost us games but which are in our control.

I just think that teams trying to figure out how to beat us will have a difficult time, b/c no one really has come up with a way. We've certainly beaten ourselves, but we've shown that if we play solidly, we are difficult to beat. And we will certainly dictate the tempo of the game regardless of how good you are. That's why I think we're the most dangerous, our record notwithstanding.

Just my two cents, though. I'm sure plenty will disagree.
