The NFL will prove itself hypocritical if it fines him for the popcorn because they've plastered the image and clip all over their own highlight reels on their own official website, they know it is good entertainment and comical, they will be shown to be two faced and of double standard should they fine him especially since he was not on the field but on the sideline for the incident.
They didn't fine Chad Johnson for his HOF jacket stunt on the sideline and they have no business taking money from TO while simultaneously making money from TO's antics.
Chad Johnson WAS fined 10k for the HOF jacket. Same amount T.O. was fined for his TD towel. The difference is T.O.'s fines become public while everyone else's are swept under the rug.
Oh, and I have no doubt that he'll be fined for the popcorn stunt.
^that was the case with his towel and they fined him for that one...
I personallt hate the celebration rule and the spiking the ball rule, it's an emotional and fun game and they fine players for showing their emotion and having fun...makes no sense to me. the celebrations draw in viewers and make the game fun, why try and remove them?
I liked TO's celebration because it was spontaneous. He noticed a fan with the popcorn, and interacted. (Maybe he planted it, I don't know). But that was cool for the fan, and it was a hilarious moment.
He ought to be fined for tossing his second TD catch straight to Al Harris.
i was just happy to hear some people finally get down on chad johnson after his cameraman stunt like they do TO. for the last few years ive heard BS reasoning as to why johnson was funny but TO was selfish in his celebrations...
