Most Important Player on Defense

I am hoping that, at this time next off-season, this discussion is more like "the most important player on defense? Here is a (legit) poll: Brown, Charlton, Chidobe, Collins, Lawrence, Lee, Lewis, Smith, Other"

...and that large of a list is because they lead the league in defense and it is just too darned difficult to choose

Right now I'd have to say Lee. He is missed whenever he's not on the field.

I'm hoping we're past the single stud D player stage. Each position group needs at least one standout player, if not an actual stud.

Lee has to be in the conversation. 5 sacks from a rookie DT shows definite potential. I like Byron a lot, others don't. He needs to become an obvious candidate. That leaves the CBs to step it up a notch.
