It's a little early... but which players will most likely be inactives for this week's game?

Weems & Spencer are locks I'd say Toomer, Street, T McClain, Vaughn, & Jack Crawford.

I want to see Street play, but I doubt he is active. Would be nice to have 5 wr's and throw them out there and test the 49ers defense. (different packages)

IMO, having inactive players is a stupid rule and concept. If you have a 53 man roster, all of them should be eligible to participate. This isn't HS or college. These men are getting paid to play, it is their occupation. I feel the same about basketball. Why have a 15 man roster and only allow 12-13 players to participate per game. Everyone on the roster should have an opportunity to have their name called upon by the coach to see game action. Now, if the player does not get to see the field, that is totally on the coach.

I am also of the opinion that with so many injuries in the last several years, the rosters need to be increased to 60 players, with all of them being active.

There are 7 total inactive players each week.

My guess would be:
Spencer
Vaughan
Weems

T. McClain - Recovering from High Ankle sprain. Did have FP on Friday, but still doubtful, IMO.
Toomer - Needs more time to learn scheme

Need 3 of the following:
Street - Might be the top outside backup, but with many receiving options including TEs and RBs, he might not play much even if Williams/Dez were out.
OG/OT Hawkins - They have gone with 7 OL active a few times in the past, but with Martin having a foot issue, this might not be a good week to do it.
DE Jack Crawford - Most recent addition. They have the top 3 (Mincey, Selvie, T. Crawford) and Wilber playing some DE. Do they need more than 4?
DE Edwards - Doubtful that both he and Jack Crawford are active and both could be inactive.

It's basically a more simplistic version of baseballs 15 day DL.

It benefits teams with more injuries.

The NFL does not want one team to come to the game with 53 players dressed and the other team to have 46 players dressed.

I'm tempted to say add the practice squad to that equation...
