Most likely RB to be moved ahead of training camp seems to be Walker

SEA vlogger puts DAL at the top of his likely destinations list... and for what it matters, I for one concur...

He would be an interesting addition ... for a day 3 pick. If healthy, only downside would be the financial difference between him & a rookie next year.

I would have to seriously consider this. Jerry has his entire RB room for like $5M right now so he probably won't.

I will pass. See what we have going into TC.
Walker would be good, but is he really, truly, that guy, to put us over the top.
I think the same for Breece Hall.

Prefer to wait and see. Maybe before the trade deadline if needed.

I'm thinking something more like a back-of-the-draft pick flip of some consequence--a KWIII + 6th for a 5th.

There also might be some thought to trading Jalen Tolbert straight-up, since my understanding is SEA as-is is depending on their two 7th rounders making the team.

Only costs Jerry about $2.7m.

Yeah, virtually every team has a surplus somewhere & a deficiency elsewhere. If you can match those up, no new investment.

Don't need another RB yet. Let's see what we got in house first.
That's fine, but like the cost of signing a (future HoF) edge rusher is only likely to go up as time advances, so is the cost of adding a plausible RB1. Once Walker gets traded wherever he's going to get traded, an already meager supply on the market gets meager-er.

Going further, think it's more or less settled that there will be no bell cow RB on the 2025 Cowboys roster. A duo of Blue and Walker, with Javonte getting some 3rd down snaps makes a lot of sense.

I would bring Nick Chubb in for a physical and workout before I traded for someone.
Convention says there's a statistical breaking point that falls right around an RB's 28th birthday, even without looking at injury history.

Chubb will turn 30 in December.

If he's still on the market mid-season, and we have a need, sure. It could be reasonable that he could give you something for a half season.

If you're going that route from season's start, tho, give me Dobbins.

Ehhhh, not a needle mover.
Needle mover is already off the table. That's not apparently an option, unless one challenges Jane Slater's report that the Jets are keeping Breece Hall.

What we're looking for, then, is a viable asset to pair with Blue. This guy qualifies, imo.

I’d prefer a free agent to any running back who I have to part with draft capital to acquire.

And Walker in particular misses a lot of time with injuries. He’d have to be part of a committee.

If the Cowboys were to grab a Seattle RB, Charbonnet would be the better fit because of his size and pass catching abilities. Shotty RBs have to be able to catch the ball, I mean, look at the roster now.

Kenneth Walker would be the best runner on the team, but with injuries and declining yards per carry I hope they stay away. Clearly, the RB room needs serious help, but this ain't it.

Two games missed in 2022.

Two games missed in 2023.

Six games missed in 2024.

If a player misses a couple of games a year, that's not much. That's acceptable.

If a player misses six games a year, yeah, that's a lot.

Maybe he misses six this season. Maybe he misses a couple. Who knows. Likely to miss some, but how many is an open question.10 games missed over three seasons is an 80% availability rate.

Again, to the very point you just made... you already know that this is going to be a committee approach for 25-26, so what's the problem here?

There are more important positions that need an infusion of talent too.
The weak link on offense is LT for now, but that's fairly obviously not a position they're going to look to acquire a new starter.

Even on defense, they have ample talent at CB, but it's a question of when they get everyone back to health.

1-Tech? Firmly believe they're going to let Mazi see if he can build on his 2024 upward trajectory.

I don't believe they're done at RB, though. Will they trade draft capital? If you'd asked me before the Pickens trade, I'd have said certainly not... to my mind 2025 was only going to end up being the preseason for the 2026 year, when they were really going "all in." Now? Now, that script has clearly flipped. My Spidey sense is that the Joneses are so exhausted by all of the praise heaped on the Eagles (...who, let's remember, were a dumpster fire as they ended their 2023 season, only to re-emerge in 2024 and go all the way... ) that they've pivoted. They're not going to waste 2025 and make it a developmental/cap-cleansing year after all.
