given all the talent on this team when was the last time you remember an NFL team that was this loaded?

Romo
Dez
Witten
Tyron
Collins
Fred
Martin
Hardy
Crawford
Gregory
DLaw
Lee
McClain
Bailey

Right there are 14 guys that even if they just have good seasons (health, lower suspension obviously needed) should be sure All Pro selections.

I doubt we ever get 4 OL or more than 2 DL but the talent is absurd!

14 guys that would make the All Pro team with simply good teams is some Jerry Jones level hyperbole my friend

Tap the breaks a little on Gregory and Collins. They haven't played a down of professional football, so "sure" All Pro selections is setting expectations a little too high for their first season.

Lol yeah I agree with this.

To the OP, this team hasn't been this loaded with talent in a long long time. It almost looks pre salary cap talented. They have to gel and do it on the field, but they have some serious talent at nearly every position group now.

What's truly great about this current roster is the "next man up" thing can be implemented almost across the board. The depth on this team is unreal now at nearly every position. If Romo stays healthy, this team can make some serious noise this year.

14 guys with All pro talent/pedigree. Whether they live up to it or not (DLaw/Gregory/Collins) is a different story.

No I didn't include Jones because I don't see him making many Pro Bowls. I think he's going to be like Scandrick only bigger/classier. A nice solid player which is all you want at 27.

Since New England last year and Seattle before.

The point I'm making is "loaded" has a minor amount to do with wins. Wins takes a long long grind by every player and coach. It also takes some good fortune both on and off the field.

Dallas might miss the playoffs this year, much less compete for a Superbowl. And the scenarios for how or why this might happen are many and some very simple.

Dallas is talented, but all their new talent is young. And we don't know who is going to be injured and who is going to be playing.

Now, if you can guarantee me that Romo, Dez, the OL, Hardy, Gregory, Lawrence, Scandrick, our safeties, Lee and McClain are all going to play in every game, then yes, I like our chances to do well.

But that's a lot of players and there will be games, potentially many games, missed.

Can we not dream just for a few hours?

Although I do agree with the others about "tapping the breaks", etc etc......

Its been a long, long time since 1995. We need this kind of excitement, setting goals high like Collins did, and gregory did in their statements.
We need swag, ambition, momentum, talent, and determination and yes, excitement in the air. "Electricity". We need all of it. If were going to break the culture of losing.....

Rookies are rookies. No matter how much potential they have......they are rookies. And we have to realize and meet all this potential on the field, but I say run with it. Forget the last play, what are we doing now.

I want to see this team pound the NFCE, Seattle, GB, Det, AZ, etc etc.....

20 years of pent up emotion.... having to fake smile and say "maybe next year" to fans of Philly/NY/Wash...

Its time. let that excitement flow throughout #cowboyszone....

My only issue right now is that I still think we are a little weak on the defensive line, but this offensive line is going to keep the Cowboys in contention for years to come. Even if Romo eventually steps down, we could employ a game manager and still make the playoffs with the players on offense we have.

As far as a team that was this loaded? The 2013 Seahawks.

Let's not forget this line had issues with Detroit last year - Detroits DL outplayed them and it really wasn't very close. We also struggled some against stunts and blitzs. Stunts and blitzs aren't something you would expect a rookie to bring the most help with.

My point is even Dallas' OL is still a work in progress. Nothing is given in this league. You have to TAKE.

I agree with the post ^^^ that we are not that strong in the DL, although we have some rushmen now. Our linebackers will have to shore up against the running game and hopefully can do so if Lee comes back at the same level.

And our safeties are average at best and our corners are average at best - maybe slightly better than that depending on how Byron performs his rookie year. Our D is still a work in progress.

Our offense was top 5, but really I would say it was top 1-3 because of the way it dominated TOP and the balance of attack and strong identity it had. I think we will struggle to have that same identity because while Murray was painful slow in the open field, he was a punisher. It made dealing and fighting through the line in order to have Murray lower his head even less exciting for the defense.

Without a punisher at RB, teams will find our rushing attack less tiring. And we may struggle to dominate TOP like we did last year.

This may expose issues with our defense even more.

Not sure about all those guys.....but for the record...

All-Pro is WAY harder to make than the Pro-Bowl

The OP and others may be mixing these up?

Except the defense added Lee, Hardy, Gregory, Jones, a full TC for McClain and twice the overall depth of a year ago.

Yep..

I think the D Line is significantly better but I still don't see that pressure player up the middle.

That really hurt us against GB.

I largely agree with the usual caveat of having to wait until the rookies perform

The major issue from my standpoint now are:

1. How effective will the run game be (unless if we happen to sign 'he who must not be named ')

2. Back up QB. I think we are overlooking this big time. If there is a single game romo misses, that is a certain loss and given his age and health that is not unlikely
