Most overrated/underrated players

Ill add more of my opinions later if this thread takes off, but I am starting this thread because I cant believe how much love Eric Weddle gets.

I don't watch everyone of his games, but I did see 3 or so Chargers games this year. He seems out of position a lot, slow, and got bull dozed at least once every game I watched.

Why are people all over this guy? He is severely overpaid and is living off his 7 Interception year.

I can't believe how wrong your entire post is.

The point of sports is to win. Those two are amongst the biggest winners to ever play their respective games. Ask any of their teammates and competitors and they would tell you the same thing. Championships can't be over-rated.

Being on a team that wins means a player cannot be overrated?

BTW, Jeter's own peers voted him as most overrated player in MLB. I think Im in decent company on that one. Besides, he's just been a media favorite and they built up the "legend" because he was a Skankee.

He is a first ballot HoF with over 3400 hits and a lifetime .310 BA. He has 5 rings and went to the playoffs every year but 3 out of 20.

Technically, if people are rating him as Zeus and you are saying he is merely Achilles then yes he is overrated

But I don't think anyone with that much success can ever be considered for a "most overrated' list

To me guys like Mike Vick and Dan Fouts should top the list

Stats can be deceiving. You mentioned the 3400 hits. Prob 2800 of those were seeing eye groundballs or bloop hits to right field because he has no bat speed. He ran like a girl. He had no range in the field. Average arm at best. Giving him a gold glove was as bad as giving Obama a Nobel. The award becomes meaningless. Overrated is an accurate description.

OBJ is overrated as **** right now. Can we wait until he plays more than one season? People do this all the time with players. They did the same to Josh Gordon too. Put him as a top 5 WR after one freaking season.

Harrison Smith for the Vikings is really underrated. Didn't even get Pro Bowl recognition.

Lavonte David is criminally underrated. Everyone's too caught up with the Luke Keuchly hype and not realizing David is just as good of a player as he is. Also he plays for the Bucs so that might have something to do with it as well.

Bashaud Breeland is far from underrated. He had a good rookie year, build on that and if he gets ignored, then you have a case, right now, he's a card carrying member of the JAG core.

Oh, you're right I dont like the guy at all. Never cared for all the off the chain hype for a guy thats a pretty good, or even average at times player.

He was never average. So his range diminished as his 20 yr career as a SS went on, the horror. Nobody did the jump throw better.

He was 6th all time in Hits. Only 5 other people had more hits, but you're right, they were all bloops. And he had 200 more hits in the postseason. And his 3000th hit was a HR on a 5-5 day.

Mr November, Capt'n Clutch, not to mention his off the field accomplishments like Jessica Biel, Scarlett Johanson, Minka Kelly, current SI covergirl Hannah Davis, etc....
