Did anyone happen to catch Emmitt's appearance on ESPN last night?

OMG. He's the most uncomfortable and worthless analyst I think I've ever seen on television. I feel embarassed for him.
His "most intriguing rookie RB this season" was Travis Henry!

This project failed miserable on NFL Network Total Access last year and will do the same on ESPN. Shame on ESPN for not learning the lessons from Emmitt's past attempts and employing him in an effort to expand it's audience to Dancing With the Stars-type fans when he is clearly not qualified.

Love ya Emmitt. Good guy and great athlete. But please, save yourself and the rest of us. Stop talking!

I'm sure many homers will have something defensive to say about it but step outside yourself for a moment and realize how you'd be impressed if he were an ex-Commander or something. I hate watching his legacy as a great football player become tainted by his poor post-NFL appearances.

I'd rather hear Irvin talk about T.O for 30 minutes, players from the 'da U ', and argue with Tom Jackson than watch that again..

I'd rather listen to Fran Drescher at open mic poetry night following an all-night helium huffing binge as Edward Scissorhands writes his name on a chalkboard while Roseanne Barr sings The Star Spangled Banner, with a quartet of cats in heat, through a megaphone.

I didn't see it but there was some goof filling in for Jim Rome today who claimed that it was great having Smith on the show rather than Irvin who he basically implied was ********.

Irvin is a love-em or hate-em type of peronality. But in the end, regardles of how you feel, he's entertaining and energetic.

Emmitt is just the equivalent of a child with stagefright and his football analyses are that of a very casual, uninformed fan. Probably a result of nervousness as I'm sure Emmitt does know a thing or two about football in reality.

Not as painful as Troy's tribute to Bill Walsh. Talk about meandering.

His wife seems to be his sounding board, constantly by his side. Maybe she needs to tell him that speaking on national TV is not his thing. Surely she has noticed.

I love when people use something like this in their posts, basically agree with whatever they say otherwise you are generalized as a homer who can not be taken seriously

and unless you are a communist cross dresser, you know this is true

Pretty sure he meant to say Chris Henry from Arizona who was drafted by the Titans.

I liked what E had to say. He put Kweefshawn in his place. At least he isn't one of those raving Irvin/Stven A. Smith/Sharpton types. He's humble.

Marshall Faulk is terrible too, but he still has a job.

faulk, terrell davis and emmit smith are all pretty lousy.

I didnt miss michael irvin screaming at me though, so I will take emmit over michael any day of the week.

and the all time worst is Deion Sanders. I cant change the channel fast enough when I see that guy. He is a disgrace.

...the best in my opinion is Daryl Johnston. I saw Emmitt last year so I am not surprised to hear that things have not improved. He wasn't very good on the NFL Network.

No, he meant Travis Henry. He mentioned the Broncos and Cutler in the same sentence.

at least he avoided supporting michael vick this time.

without irvin, they're all going to have the same opinions, might as well just have one guy.

Do you think Emmitt has stage fright or doesn't he do the necessary homework to prepare himself to discuss variety of football topics.

Mark Schlereth was an absolute trainwreck when he started at ESPN. i actually felt bad for him because he was just so bad. He got better and while I think a lot of his takes are garbage as a public peaker he improved dramatically.

Emmitt is just starting out on what is the biggest sports network out there. Hes a hard worker and he is a Dallas Cowboy through and through. Im pulling for the guy to get better and Ill watch him to show my support.

I have to agree, the Monday Night Countdown show is just not the same without Irvin. Emmitt looked stiff and uncomfortable. He's just not a made for TV type of guy. Neither was Joe Montana. It doesn't take anything away from what they did on the football field, obviously.

Former players simply should not be analysts.

Watching Emmitt is like watching NASCAR. You're just sitting there waiting for the massive car wreck to happen.
