Most playoff teams have quarterbacks that are fairly mobile. We have a major problem

Been saying this for awhile. Not only is he immobile, every team in the league KNOWS he's immobile. No respect is given to the threat of him running. He is way easier to defend than even a rookie like Daniels. Stealing 4-5 first downs a game with your legs can demoralize a defense. We're not allowed to have that in Dallas.

To me, it's not the problem, but shows his flaws more.
Early Dak, when he couldn't either get a good read on the defense or everyone was covered had the threat of his legs to get the 1st down. And he was built decently so not like he was a shrimp like tua that can get knocked around.

Now, he still struggles vs good defenses but is impersonating Drew Bledsoe in the pocket.
Ever since the 2020 injury he really has cut back on running.
And he has slowed down when running. He has Offensive linemen moves lol.
Yeah I would agree. Dak was never a great QB from an arm talent or pre snap standpoint, but he did everything pretty much to a NFL caliber level. Average physical traits can be a very good thing in the NFL when you dont have a true weakness among them. When one of those traits starts to become diminished the rest now starts to become vulnerable as well. I don't think this is anything new either, a lot of people for years now have been worrisome about how Dak would age in this league, especially early on when he played not with the volume of a Cam Newton, but certainly a bit of that physical style running.

Yeah it’s an issue
Personally think dak should drop 15 lbs and do some speed work on the offseason
It certainly helped Stafford's mobility. Not that he's a runner or a true "mobile QB" but he is so much lighter on his feet this year
looks much younger

Tom Brady has more rings than anyone. No mobility at all. Good teams find a way.

Daks lack of mobility should be like concern #38, not #1. It’s like worrying about a tire losing air slowly, instead of the fact your engine is on fire.

Drew actually had strong arm and could fling it all over the field without having to get his whole body involved in the throw to get it deep. His problem was he was a total statue back there and when he was with Dallas they had a pretty bad offensive line, which was why Romo was finally inserted because he could extend plays and hide the deficiencies on the line.

I do believe QBs today have to be somewhat mobile. I certainly helps if he is one of the fastest guys on the field. You can see what Daniels does for Washington. But Even Joe Burrow who is more of a classic QB, can move around and buy time. If the QB is not mobile he has to be really smart, and quick making decisions. Dak is slow and knows it. He doesn't really try to run much anymore. When he does he usually gets caught from behind by someone, even defensive tackles. It is a problem because Dak does not get rid of the ball quickly and when he does the receiver is not usually very open.

We got way bigger problems than the mobility of our quarterback.

There is no quarterback ,coach or amount of mobility in any amount of players that can overcome Jerry and his team building concept.
We are the team that's kept three or four players away from competing in an NFC championship game along with a coach away from ever getting to a Super bowl.
Let's say that's true.

So now...whu do we do?:rolleyes:

I wouldn't argue, but you definitely need a QB, who's got a particular strength or who's weakness you can overcome. As we know Goff's not moving, and he struggles mightly when pressured...so you give him one of the best O-Lines which turns him in to sn excellent QB.
If we discussed Dak, I'm not sure what one thing he would need, he appears to need it all.

Just being mobile isn't going to make you a quarterback who's going to successfully lead an offense to a winning formula. You need a mobile quarterback with great decision making and other intangibles......

For instance.... these are some of the most mobile quarterbacks in the NFL. Justin Fields, Malik Willis, Justin Herbert, Carson Wentz, Geno Smith, Anthony Richardson, Joshua Dobbs, Kyler Murray, and Desean Watson.

None of them are better than Dak.

Now Dak's slow feet are definitely more of a handicap to our offense amongst other issues he has as a starting quarterback, but the SPECIAL mobile quarterbacks who are succeeding all have one thing in common that the Dallas Cowboys don't have.

They ALL have very good offensive coordinators with modern, creative, offense with lots of shifting and motion. When is the last time we had a creative offensive coordinator? The closest we came to that was Kellen Moore, but he wasn't intelligent enough to call plays according to the flow of the game when he was with us.

I think he has finally learned how to keep doing what the opponents can't stop while working for the Eagles.

For sure. Drew had a cannon for an arm. Just was talking about his mobility

You thought Dak was slow and immobile before. Wait until you see him run after having his hamstring reattached to his bone.

This was a amongst my top reasons on the "Don't side Dak" ledger - dude is a statue and easy first downs are just eliminated as a possibility. Even when he was a healthy rookie its not like he was agile/fleet of foot.
Maybe this surgey they put some nano-bots in there

Biggest issue I have is I'm afraid it's going to be worse this coming season.

Dak was already trending in that direction, and now he's coming off yet another leg injury.

So of course the Cowboys make things much worse by giving him the worst contract in franchise history.
