These are the guys who either get little notice, fanfare or are under appreciated. Always debatable, but always fun. Here’s my list:
5. L.P. Ladouceur- every time we are kicking for points, this guy matters. He’s one of the best.
4. Bryon Jones- this guy takes a bad rap in my opinion. Yes, he’s made some poor plays and hasn’t had enough picks but he’s a lot more solid at several things that he gets little credit for. And he’s durable. Hasn’t missed a game. I remember the strange love for Mo Claiborne who was never half as good as B Jones.
3. Rod Smith- an excellent special teams guy in addition to being a very solid RB with power and some sneaky speed for a guy carrying 240 lbs. He’s the kind of guy every team needs and though he’ll probably never be an All Pro, he’s valuable.
2. Cameron Fleming- I know he hasn’t played for us yet, but I think he is going to be very valuable if and when Tyron Smith has any back issues. Not great but loads better than Chaz “Lookout!” Green. As a swing T, he’s already upgraded our OL.
1. Chris Jones- not only a helluva punter, the dude is already legendary for his hits on coverage. But most importantly he can flip a field. He put the ball inside the 20 as good as anyone in the league. He’s literally a weapon for our defense.
Thoughts? Who did I leave out?
