Alot of people think that since Flozell was cut, that the cowboys will look at the offensive line in the first round, but if a tackle the cowboy covet is gone and Pouncey or Iupati are also gone, if a top corner falls as did Jenkins did two years ago, I'd have no problem if Dallas selecting a corner and move Newman to safety.

As a second choice in round one, if receiver Demaryius Thomas is there at 27, I'd take him over any other receiver in this draft.

Thoughts??

The CB position is much more important to the defense's success than the safety position. Why would you move Newman to safety and put the teams fortunes on the back of a rookie CB?

It just doesnt make sense for many reasons.

I'm thinking we will look to draft Pouncey if available, and Alan Ball will start at safety.

If Pouncey, Iupati, and Dez Bryant are gone at #27, we will trade down and/or select Nate Allen or Devin McCourty if available, and Alan Ball will start at safety.

Either way, I think Alan Ball is our new FS.

we should trade kitna to detroit for anthony henry and then move him to FS.

OR draft Tim Tebow and play him at FS.

...............NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You need that jacket tailored young man.
...and hell no to TNew as a safety.

Hmmmmmm I think that could be a huge gamble since Newmen never played the position but new men does have the speed and ball hawking you need in a FS so really I dont know and btw what Corner do you think is gonna fall to the cowboys anyway??? But I dont know maybe it could work but it would be a good idea or it could be horrible

No, he does not have the "ball hawking" that is needed at the position. His ability to track the football is not that great. I'd prefer better.

He is a better tackler than Hamlin, I'll give him that. But he also makes "business decisions" from time to time.

I'd much rather draft a real free safety and be done with it.

Doesn't make sense, like playing Jenkins and Scandrick as rookies huh!! Jenkins and Scandrick would be the starters outside, Ball would play nickel. the Rookie would play special teams and be the forth option.

And Yes, Newman can play safety, as alot of starting corners have over the years later in their career. Newman is more suitable now in his career as a slot corner, than outside.

I'm not going to say what kind of safety Newman could be but I would rather him remain at CB and address safety with a safety

You do know Henry played safety in college before moving to corner right, He can do it, but Newman can't, right LOL!!!!

It does not mean he can make the move because someone else did either. Not trying to claim it to be a stupid idea but the simple truth is no one knows what kind of safety newman could be because he never played it and never was asked to take on all the responsiblities that come with the job. He may be good at it but he may not be. He is however still one of the better CB in the league.

Ballhawking!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You know what that means, being in position to make an interception or play on the ball, but you think Mike Hamlin, or a rookie draft pick is a better option than a veteran, please!!!!

Maybe we can draft another Roy Williams, AKA,Taylor Mays..

Dumbest thread of the off-season?

No not even close. It is not beyond reason. I will say I would rather keep Newman at CB

You don't move starting CBs to safety unless you're overloaded at the position or they have lost a step.

:banghead:

You put bigger, more physical aging corners at S... Not skinny 180 pounders who don't always like contact.
