Looking back in the off season or during the season, the Cowboys are always linked to a player that's not happy with their team, or just got cut. With all that said, are you glad we didn't take the bait and make the moves they thought we should have made??

I like the low key moves we may especially in getting Cooks and Gilmore. But for us to get an OBJ or Hopkins etc, I'm glad we kept it moving. Please give your thoughts

Good points. Signed this season were producers for the current roster and a couple of Pro Bowl level veterans.

Dallas over the past three seasons has added former first rounders to see out as lower level acquisitions also.

I think we should have paid Bobby Wagner. Still a great player. We had the money!

This D may be really good, but Wagner would have made it even better! We need a great D with Dak.

We need to have better D than the Whiners. I strongly believe Wagner would have made US the #1 D in football!

I’m really glad we didn’t sign OBJ. Ty Hilton played well and with paying OBJ for multiple seasons and giving Martin a raise would have been detrimental to the cap.

Randy Gregory, yeah thank God he’s gone. I applaud Jerry for standing his ground.

I also want to throw in not drafting Paxton Lynch and Manziel. If we would have drafted Manziel then we wouldn’t have gotten Martin. If we drafted Lynch then there would be no Dak. Dak isn’t elite but the alternatives that we could have gotten (Manziel or Lynch) puts the Dak pick in a different perspective.

Goodness, it sounds as if I’m praising Jerry. What’s gotten into me. But seriously as much as I bash Jerry he has made some wise moves. I’ll give him that. Someone said it earlier in the thread, some of the best moves are the ones you don’t make. OBJ, Manziel RG and Paxton make me shudder with how bad that could have been.

Don't praise Jerry. He wanted both of those moves. He scolded Stephen for the Martin choice, not making the bold move, which Jerry only went along with because no one in the room agreed with him. He lamented not getting the Lynch trade up done the next morning. They drafted Dak that afternoon.

Had Jerry gotten his way Martin is a future HOFer somewhere else and we would've had the pleasure of a front row seat for the Manziel debacle. Thanks, Jerry.

Jerry or "reports" said we were interested in drafting Aiden O'Connell at/around the 4th round. Fehoko or a franchise QB? I'll take Aiden.

Von Miller and Bobby Wagner too....I think Bobby ended up having a solid season but got released after one year. And Von got hurt.
Wagner had an outstanding season for the Rams. The team fell apart. Be angry about how he would have been our 2nd rounder when we traded up for Mo. Wagner would add a lot to any D. He's a HoF player. Literally, all pro every season.

Players getting hurt has nothing to do with the evaluation of the signing. Never had an injury history. Just a chance event. And he was balling before he got hurt

Wait, Jerry actually scolded Stephen for the Martin pick? Wow. I do remember him having Manziel’s draft card in his hand and the story was someone took it out of his hand. I also remember a story of Jerry saying he couldn’t sleep because of missing out on Lynch. But I thought that was all for media attention. Very interesting. Well give credit for DNA boy for the Martin pick and let’s send Denver a thank you card for taking Gregory and Lynch away from us.

Didn’t Jerry and Stephen almost come to blows over Deion Sanders too. Jerry wanted him and Stephen didn’t.

what moves did we miss? I guess I was sleeping.
He gave you a couple of the moves he was talking about, although I'm not sure if "miss" is the right word because we don't really know how much of an effort the team made. We do know they talked to OBJ a lot late last season, but who knows how far the discussions went.
