I accepted a job offer this morning and after 11 long years of exodus, my wife and I are finally returning to Texas. We are very excited and cannot wait to get there and get settled. I will make far less than what I'm making now but with two kids in the picture, it is important for us to be close to family and friends. At least I don't have to have Directv and negotiate for the Sunday ticket every year anymore. :D

No state income tax, either.

Yes, that helps.

I forget..where are you moving from?

I've lived in WV since 2009. Prior to that I was in KY from 2002 until I moved to WV, one year of those years I was overseas.

Getting paid way more and living in WV. That's unusual.
I suspect Dallas is more expensive unless you live fairly far out in one of the burbs. Values get pretty good out there.

Back to a pro sports town though...sweet.:starspin

A couple of great things about Dallas are Verizon Fios (way better than Uverse or any other service) and Sprouts grocery stores (easily the best grocery chain in the country). Also lots of good restaurants, various Vietnamese in Garland, Lockhart Smokehouse in Oak Cliff, Lucia, Matt McAllister's (best new chef Southwest) restaurant FT33.
