I am moving myself and my family to Fort Worth, Texas. I am originally from West Texas so it kind of a homecoming. (Woo Hoo!).

We live in South Florida now and plan on moving as soon as our house is sold. Any advice on where to live? We are looking at new housing developments and are looking at the Crowley area for know but we are open to any advice.

Thanks

All the places to move to in Texas and you choose Fort Worth? :p:

J/k...born, raised, and moved away from there...but it's still home.

Crowley is a nice area if you're looking at new developments. The overall neighborhood is diverse enough not to be dominated by one particular ethnic group.

Some of the older homes in that area are still pretty nice. Crowley school district is pretty good from what I hear, as well. And even if you move in a Crowley neighborhood that is in FWISD, the schools in that area are real nice.

I-35 and I-20 are the main highways in the area. Tho overall, Ft. Worth is not that difficult to get around.

And the shopping is great. The Hulen mall and the shopping centers around it provides some of the best shopping in the city. And you're also not that far away from Burleson, which has pretty good shopping, too, right off I-35.

And of course, you're just a hop, skip, and a jump away from Dallas.

I'm jealous! I'd love to get down to that area one of these days! Good luck with your move. Let us know how it goes...

I just moved to the most vile city in Texas....Houston. I was born in West Texas. Then I moved to New Jersey and suffered the goombahs, moved to Houston for the next 12 years only to be freed to go to college in Austin...now I find myself back in hell with no way out currently...I would kill to live in Ft. Worth right now.

Yeah to expand on WG a little bit, when it comes to the Crowely ISD they have a ton of tax based money to put into the school so they dont skimp out on aything budget wise. So youll know the kids are getting all their money worth for a public school. Area is nice to you can move outside the city a little bit and still have plenty of neighbors. Decent area all around.

We're looking at living in Poynter Crossing. I cannot believe the prices of the houses. I left Florida because the prices were too high. I can almost buy a house with cash in Texas. LOL
