Those Boys fans that have had the opportunity of viewing the Chargers on a consistent basis, what type of matches/mis-matches should the Cowboys expect?

What are Rivers' characteristics?

How is their defense?

Im gonna get some astroglide in preparation for this one.

From your remark in another thread, you would choose not to use it.

I don't think their defense is all that great, but it has gotten better as the year goes on. They were terrible at the beginning of the year. Running game is not all that great. Tomlinson is not near the player he used to be. Sproles is very dangerous in the screen game. So quick and fast.

They have two big wrs on the outside with jackson and floyd. Jackson is having an all pro year. A lot of times rivers simply gives his receivers a jump ball and they make the play. Gates is always a factor too.

What we need to do is get rivers on the move. He is dangerous in the pocket but cannot move at all.

The chargers are going to give us all kinds of problems. Put it that way.

Beating the giants would have made it ok to get thumped by SD or new orleans. now we need to win one if not both.

I am not sure this defense can do that.

and here is the real bummer. Now since we lost this game, the whole week in this area will be about firing wade/romo going to vegas/firing wade etc...

So the crowd at the chargers game is going to suck. Just like the carolina game where viritually everyone was still talking about the giants game. The crowd is going to be terrible.

I fear rivers big time. It might not be pretty next sunday.

I'm ready to move on too, I wonder how we're going to lose to the Chargers. It's always fun seeing what creative ways we think of to lose in December.

We will be able to move the ball well against their defense. Heck, even brady quinn looked good against them today. He threw for 3 tds and 271 yards, no picks.

we will be fine. We have been good at home with the exception of week 2. It will be a close on but who knows what will happen at the end. Rivers is one heck of a quarterback though

Mismatch...

Do you think that finding mismatches has anything to do with proper coaching or decision making... in this place?

Do you think that's Marshmallows you're eating?

well personally this is the game I have feared all along in the second half of the season.

and the reason is, I dont think we will have to invent anyway to lose.

I think their offense vs our defense is going to be all it takes and it will just be a talent issue.

We might just give up a whole bunch of points.

My bet is we lose because a crucial punt finally hits the scoreboard, both screwing us and somehow proving the media right and giving them something to talk about for weeks.

Yeah I think so too. Norv is probably going to ram it right up our rears again.

Their passing game is big time, so is New Orleans'. I think the next two games could be very ugly defensively. The only thing that might make the games competitive is niether of those teams have particularly good defenses, so we might be able to score quite a bit ourselves if we dont turn it over.

I think a split would be huge, but honestly wont be surprised if we get smoked both games.

Usually, I'd have a pretty good idea about the opponents, but I've barely seen San Diego play this season.

Rivers must've really taken that next step. Last season, he wasn't all that impressive to me.

Its not like our defense sucks... yeah they had a bad game, but then again it was the giants. For whatever reason they always play great offensively against us. Prior to today the last reallly bad game we had on defense was week 2. Everyone here acts like the defense sucks all of a sudden.

I've watched nearly all of their games and their offense can air it out with anyone. Rivers is playing at a level comparable to Brees, Brady, Manning. Jackson is the best WR no one talks about and Gates is, well, Gates. They definately look for the homerun ball. They haven't ran the ball great, but I have a feeling Sproles is going to give us fits, especially catching balls out of the backfield.

As for their defense, it's getting better. Earlier in the year they couldn't get off the field on 3rd down, but they've improved. Still, we should be able to score on them.

Their special teams is pretty scary, especially considering the way ours played today. Sproles is good. Good punter, good kicker. They have the advantage there by far.

Our offense will have to score 30 to win. Perhaps more.

They looked like a juggernaut today beating Cleveland by 7.

I flipped over to that game during commercials a little today.

It was a huge blowout where the chargers were just waiting for the clock to run out and then the browns scored a couple of times.

That offense is hitting in all areas. They have talent, they are well coached and they are very aggressive.

I wouldn't discount our offense vs their defense either.

They allowed 23 points to Cleveland. CLEVELAND.

This game has Cowboys/Chiefs 05 written all over it.

Rivers is playing extremely well, they air it out on a regular basis and they have sproles who can hurt you on kickoffs or punt returns. Defensively the two teams are the same so Garrett should be able to scheme something offensively to exploit a weakness but the chargers are on roll and I would assume playing Dallas they will play better than they have all year. Kind of like every other team does.:
