Moving on to Thursday vs the Bucs

Cowboys have scored, 122 points
Only the bills are better at 127 points
But the Cowboys have also allowed over 100 points
It’s still about the defense

The Bucs are 0-4, have you seen any of their games, how do you think we will do against them??
Bucs are on their way to a top 5 pick next year. After giving Baker that ludicrous extension. Cowboys win by 3 TDs or more

On paper this is a bad team that we should be easily.

In the real world anything can happen especially depending on how this coaching staff prepares the team after the win against the Texans.

Every single team on our schedule will be a challenge. There will be no layups.

We can beat any team on our schedule and we can lose to any team on our schedule. We are a mediocre team so every game will be a battle IMO.
100%. This is Schottenheimer's team.

NFL dream world of watered down rosters. America's team is now Mediocrity Team.

Seems ironic that one of the topics for discussion during the preseason was how difficult their schedule was going to be.

Now, their 4th and 5th games of the season are against winless teams. The next four teams after that are either 1-3 or 2-2.

It could be that the Cowboys will not play a team with a winning record until game #10 against the 49ers.
And it’s exactly why predicting wins and losses in the summer when the schedule is released is a crazy exercise in speculation.

It takes at least 4-6 weeks to get a good idea what teams are going to be year to year. The NFL is a league where fast turnarounds and fast nosedives are equally possible.

Bottom line - just when you think you know what’s going to happen - you don’t.

This D is statistically MUCH WORSE than last years D even after so many Defensive additions,we can lose to any team.
Man, the crazy thing is that statistically what you're confirming is nearly mathematically impossible!

Parker's achieving something must, including myself believed to virtually impossible by performing WAY worse that Eberflus, especially when you consider how 'good' our defensive roster is on paper.

Hate to say it: But it's about time to let him go if this trend continues through to mid season.

If I were Jerry, I'd start calling Jum Schwartz for 2027-28. Too much talent on the field for this defense to be a sloppy.

Isn't the real question how good is their defense?

Team Overview & Rankings
    • Record: 0-4 (4th in NFC South)
    • Points For: 76 (19.0 per game, 23rd in NFL)
    • Points Against: 96 (24.0 per game, 19th in NFL)
    • Total Offense: 1,113 yards (278.3 yards per game, 28th in NFL)
    • Total Defense: 1,131 yards allowed (4th fewest allowed in NFL) [1, 2]

Offensive & Defensive Leaders
    • Passing Leader: Baker Mayfield – 615 yards
    • Rushing Leader: Bucky Irving – 56 carries, 241 yards, 1 TD
    • Receiving Leader: Cade Otton – 157 yards
    • Defensive Leader (Tackles): J. Trotter – 34 tackles

      Make the math work

I think the defense stinks and even I would be surprised if Tampa scored 30.

Tampa's defense isn't any good, the offense should be fine.
