Mozilla has released the first beta of its Firefox 4 for Android and Maemo. The browser is based on the Firefox 4 core and should be released in the same time frame as the big brother.
The mobile browser, which is arguably the most advanced browser for smartphones available today, includes Firefox Sync, a cloud feature that enables users to sync browsing history, passwords, form-fill data and bookmarks, as well as open tabs.
There is also the Awesome Screen that is designed to minimize typing requirements on smartphones, as well as tabbed thumbnail browsing. There are even some performance-enhancing features such as Electrolysis, which increases performance by rendering the browser interface and content separately, as well as Layers, which Mozilla claims improve the performance of graphics-intensive tasks such as scrolling, zooming and animation.
Complete Story
The Firefox Sync is very cool. To be able to have your bookmarks everywhere you go is good stuff!
My favorite browser (xScope) released xScope 6 and it's still has nice features, but it's way freaking bloated. It went from an absolute kick *** browser to a cool browser that cause my phone to become sluggish sometimes if I don't close it when I'm finished using it. (didn't always do that as it didn't matter) Hopefully the new Firefox will eliminate the need for it.
