When Jets coach Rex Ryan said, with typical ham-handed mental agility that he did not recommend anybody show up at jets stadium wearing Cowboy colors, he not only mad an Ash of hisself but perhaps put some Cowboy fans in jeopardy.

In this day and age, when fans are subjected to attacks, L.A., Oakland, etc., Ryan's remarks need an immediate and heavy fine on that jerk coach.
Of course, he backtracked and said he meant that he wanted the stadium in Jets colors. arghhhh! I am so mad I could eat 3 steaks!

Can you imagine Jason Garrett or Jerra saying that? I cannot.

Only in New Yawk.

If Goodell does not fine Ryan, this sets a bad presient.

Rex Ryan clearly got a call from the league office because he was walking those comments back yesterday and it wouldn't surprise me to see a fine at some point next week for those comments

I agree, that's not cool. That's like asking the fans to physically harm Cowboy fans at the stadium, on a day that is supposed to be a memorial of 9/11. Rex shows he has no class and is rapidly approaching Philly territory. I hope the Cowboys destroy the Jets.

The great thing is I'm actually going to this game, hopefully I don't get shot or stabbed because of something a millionaire said.

Well said.

Actually it was a reporter in the room that said those comments could be taken wrong. Rex made it clear that was not the intention. But, hey, Rex is the bad guy here so twist his words and make fun of him. I get it. Caveman mentality.

If you do sue the bastid and the NFL while your at it. I'll expect free access to your winter villa in Aruba for this free advice.:p:

Be careful, Count.

If anybody even stares at you in a menacing way, get a good lawyer and the defendants should be, in no particular order: Goodell, Rex Ryan, The New York Jets, the NFL.

No, Rex said it in a thuggish, nonthinking way. What he meant was: cowboy fans beware. We'll beat you up.
In the case of a lawsuit, the court shall make no distinction between stupidity and outward malice that incites.
I am not a lawyer but I watched "Barnaby Jones" and "L.A. Law" plenty while in lockup and in the group home and then in my abode.

I hate Goodell too. He worries whether you go to a strip bar but doesn't care that certain teams get away with murder on the field and never get flagged.

Honestly, what he said was dumb. I mean, we play in that SAME stadium every year. I'm sure cowboys fans know what to expect from new york fans.

Please tell me your kidding. Please.

This normally wouldn't be a big deal, but I bet the NFL makes a big deal of it because of what happened in San Fran during the preseason.

I find the trash talking to be kind of funny, and very entertaining. I love me a coach with some swagger and confidence. Nothing wrong with that IMO.

I'll be gunning for ya. ;)

I hope you do not endorse what Rex implied.

What is good for the players is good for the coaches. Especially on 9/11.
That is not too much to ask.

oh balooney. He could have simply meant that you'd be at risk to get spit on or a beer poured on you. There was nothing thuggish about it. Another overplayed, overly sensitive media boogeyman. Gimmeabreak.

Trash talking is all fun and games but you simply cannot have coaches making implications that fans will suffer harm for rooting for their team and wearing their gear to visiting stadiums. I'm sure the league will not take what he said lightly.

I think that is fine when you are talking about things on the field. The NFL is a business and it is all about liability in their minds.

Can you imagine, Rex making those comments, the NFL not doing anything about it and then something actually bad happened to someone in the stadium wearing a Cowboys Jersey?

The NFL and Rex could get their butts sued off.

Thanks for your input. I am sure that cowboy fans at the stadium will be comforted by that.
