I would think the accuracy issues are a mechanics problem, considering he can throw tight spirals on a dime and lay a pass in. Mechanics can be fixed (Romo fixed his), but it takes a player seeing that they need to be fixed and being willing to change. I don't know if Cook is that kind of player.

Honestly, this is the only concern about him I care about. He's rated by most as a second-round prospect, so if we take him there I have no problem with that. He'll be a backup learning to be a leader from Romo, so whatever prickly personality he has can be adjusted over time. Playing big in big games also can be learned through his apprenticeship and experience.

That's the excuse for every QB with accuracy issues.......... his mechanics. But as stated above, the stats don't lie and very few kids with sub .600 accuracy in college amounts to much in the NFL. Romo was a 60%+ passer in college too, granted at a lower level.

I don't think you can teach guys to play better in big games. In a lot of cases, guys just have that knack.

I'd take a flier on Cook................ if he fell into the 4th round.

As I said, I think the accuracy issues are a legit complaint. Whether his mechanics can be fixed is something teams will have to consider. If they think they can, he'll likely be taken in the second. If it is questionable, he'll probably be there in the fourth.

I think based on film that the flaws can be fixed. He just needs a good QB coach to work with him.

The kid is a solid second rounder and truly the most NFL ready QB in the draft. He played some big boy football and won lots of games, he even beat the glow sticks from Ohio State. Knock him all you want, he is a winner. He is not my favorite, but if they foolishly pass on Wentz and Goff, I hope they can get Lynch or Cook in the second round.

My preference would be Lynch if he's there in the second. I do believe that Cook has development potential (I don't believe he's NFL ready because of his accuracy issues), but I like Lynch's upside a little more.

Cooks highest percentage .587
Tom brady in college .619
If Tom can improve why cant Cook?

Cook's ceiling is a career backup, IMO. Don't like him at all. We probably draft him in the second. Celebrate.

Cook also had the weakest arm in the combine which was really surprising to me,there is not one thing he does well.any team which takes him will be sorely dissapointed.
