Much easier in Dallas to win when pressure is off

It’s mind boggling to me how many fans don’t see this, one thing we’ve seen especially under MM is when the pressure has been on home playoff games and this season when games mattered how horribly prepared this team was, how lack of disciplined they played with, how poorly they tackled, on and on, that now all of a sudden with no pressure, games not meaning nearly as much, all of a sudden these issues have been addressed. I’m sorry but this team and THIS coach is much more 30 point home losses, horribly prepared, poorly coached team that was embarrassed by GB and started 3-7 than the team that has won 4 of 5 with no pressure on.

I was hoping for a higher draft pick too, but when the team plays so hard and with so much heart, I'm happy with the win. If they continue like this for the remaining games, they can look back on this and use it as a reminder that they can win, even when the chips are down. Confidence can be more valuable than a higher draft position.

I don’t believe it has anything to do with pressure being off
We have third string players out there on defense
I called them football players playing because they love the game
Not your prima donna football player that wants to paycheck
Detroit 16 injured players on defense
And the defense is playing just as well, if not better with the backups.
I’d rather have players that play for the love of the game and not the paycheck. The job of the GM is to find those players.

I’m so sick of this higher draft pick nonsense. Find football players that’s what a GM is supposed to do, you can find them in the undrafted area easier. These are the guys that play for the love of the game not for a paycheck down the road because they have a big head and think they deserve it
That’s why this team sucks because Jerry wants the name just like his fans. I want football players. Like the ones that beat Tampa Tampa Bay back ups.

It’s more than the draft pick, this franchise is in need of an overhaul, from the owner, the gm(same person), head coach etc. and now by winning these meaningless games those changes, especially from the coach are less likely to happen, jerry will continue to think he’s smarter than everyone else(which he’s not) they won’t address areas of need in free agency, and worse of all will keep this coach who never has his team prepared when the games count and much more on the line.

The team is exactly where they are bc of what they are........ spineless , poorly prepared from top to bottom and unable to perform under pressure. Pressure is part of the game. You can't just look at what the team does in its absence. Performance under pressure is what separates the contenders from the pretender. We are pretenders. What players do in meaningless games with no expectations is........... meaningless. But, I'm glad it makes you feel better. You and Jerry would get along. This exactly the kind of "glass is half full" reasoning from the FO that keeps this team chasing its tail.

There could be something to that.

I think team over the years has a perpetual problem of buying into its own headlines….which probably includes the words/attitude of the owner who constantly runs his mouth.

They played well at the end of the lost 2020 season also….yet have a serious problem showing up for an early round playoff game when they billed as a team with a SB chance.

Why can’t they play with that type of fire in a playoff game?

If they did there would be no NFCCG drought to talk about.

For that reason I don’t think Jerry will extend McCarthy.

Beyond when you look at the reality of the situation. Before they started winning, the Cowboys were at 9 or 10. The won 4 of 5 and now they are at 15. They likely go higher with Philly and Wash coming up ending up at 12 maybe 13? I don't understand all the hand wringing over a few spots. Especially considering they are likely to trade down.

IMHO as we discarded our "stars" we just keep getting better and better. You really do need to want to be out there to survive on a football field. Our entire salary cap is sitting on the bench and we are better than ever.

Those pissed off that we won are the same ones that will be pissed off at Jerry's draft pick....and life in general...it's just in their DNA.
I do very much believe in people being fans as they see fit. Want to lose for a better draft pick? That’s fine….but this year that’s entirely fruitless. Even before last night there was virtually no way they were getting higher than nine or lower than 14. Still probably the case.

I see no real difference. Not as if a Peyton Manning is sitting there and they blew the top pick with a 2nd win.

There’s probably a few upset Raider fans today lol.

Yesterday, I truly hope people realized what happened
So many injuries across the league. And some of those teams are actually playing better because they have football players on the field people that love to play the game and they have heart.
Sure they wanna paycheck. But that’s not really why they were out there. And it’s up to Jerry to find those players and other GM’s like. And they usually come in the later rounds. That type of football player I’m trying to Explain so people understand. And I’m not that elegant at it. Lol. We won because of heart and not because of the names on the field.

I just said basically the same thing. I’d guess people are used to it making a larger difference, but not this year. Too many teams are awful.

Dallas is in its perfectly comfortable spot…right in the middle. Sell it Jerry.

Last night this team played some of the most inspired football I’ve seen out of them in a long while.

Why can’t they find that for a playoff game?

Is that on coaching for allowing them to become full of themselves, or maybe Jerry for talking Super Bowl before the first playoff game? Both?
