Much easier in Dallas to win when pressure is off

They should’ve beat Cincy, but they’ve been playing good football this last month. The defense is really applying pressure with sacks and TO’s. We’ve seen some young guys on the line get experience and grow. I think that will go a long way when handling the pressure.

I don’t believe it has anything to do with pressure being off
We have third string players out there on defense
I called them football players playing because they love the game
Not your prima donna football player that wants to paycheck
Detroit 16 injured players on defense
And the defense is playing just as well, if not better with the backups.
I’d rather have players that play for the love of the game and not the paycheck. The job of the GM is to find those players.
We started the season with oline beat up, 2 rookies at LT and C playing positions they’d never played. Depth and play has got better.
The defense playing a new scheme with key injuries, that’s gotten a little better

Like I said, the second and third string players are playing better than the first

This team winning games with a backup QB and missing many if not most of its best players is "horribly prepared" and "poorly coached"?

And why hasn't there been pressure the last five weeks? The coaches don't have contracts and they only officially missed the playoffs three hours before the game last night.

I can see the OP's point but honestly biggest factors to me were the injuries, learning and adjusting to Zimmer's defense and a bunch of young players having to learn and figure it out. McCarthy has been saying as much all season long about the young players. Not really that big of a mystery if you think about it.

People are continuing to miss the point, where they draft is just one issue with winning these meaningless games, the bigger concerns is that when this team was 3-7, which is why they missed the playoffs in the 1st place there was a CLEAR need to for a complete franchise overhaul. Now by winning these games, the major changes the organization MUST make to get them to become super bowl contenders will continue to get pushed further away all because of winning these games when the pressure is off, and backups who will most likely be gone anyway are getting these wins

I’m enjoying the hell out of it. After watching that pig slop at the beginning of the season it’s awesome to see what actually resembles a real NFL team.
If your goal is one day see this team become a legitimate super bowl contender than these wins are not enjoyable, if you just prefer seeing your team win games for the sake of winning sure, but this team finishing 3-14 with a higher draft pick, a whole new coaching staff, a complete jerry embarrassment so he’s forced to change his losing ways and realize his way is the WRONG way would be MUCH more beneficial than winning these last few games with a roster of players that are most likely not even back next season in the first place

It’s about the type of player, there’s a difference between a football player, and a football player. One has heart the other has a paycheck.

Sorry bud, I disagree. We have read this story for the last 30 years and it's same ole with this team. They will now give us fans hope that we have turned a corner, and you pretty much know what the outcome will be. Jerry has already said he's poor, we have many FA players, let alone massive question marks at key positions next year. I refuse to get excited or get teased until I see the ownership give a damn. You and I both know this is exactly part of the master plan. I, and many, choose to not get suckered in

I can’t preach enough, the difference between a football player, and a football player. The one with heart and the other with the paycheck. Give me the fourth round undrafted free agents. I don’t care about first round where I pick. But Jerry needs to learn this, obviously it’s not about names. It’s about heart.

So you’d rather have a bunch of high priced name. Free agents. I’d rather have a bunch of unknown football players.
It’s about the history, it’s about Mr. cowboy, it’s about what the star means and what it represents. I could give a crap about Jerry. Suckered in. Why are you even here? I have to ask myself. Is it going to quit quit? don’t do it half hearted.
I can’t believe people think Jerry doesn’t give a damn. He wants a championship so bad . Forget it,

Meh. You must have missed the NO and Detroit games. In fact Tampa and Buffalo are the only two teams to beat Detroit this season. I want all of that as well, but I can’t stand watching my team suck. Had they kept on that path no guarantees that these nitwits change anything. He stuck with JG for 10 years for crying out loud!

That’s a huge part of why we’ve played so well, the pressure is off. It’s very reminiscent of what happened in 2010 after Wade Phillips was fired. We were winning games with John Kitna as our QB. The team went from playing terrible to good after the coaching change was made and the team was out of playoff contention. McCarthy looked like a dead man walking a few weeks ago and now it’s looking like he’ll be back. With nothing to play for the team is able to go out and play relaxed. We saw nothing like this when our season was still in the balance.

actually, those teams most of the which you are referring to, about have let losing settle in and they DO NOT GET Better. Browns haven't even won a division since 1989, How many first round picks have they had? like some years 3 1sts some 2 firsts many owners, gms and staffs have come through there and they are still LOSERS!!

many teams just like than that fans think winning the draft boards and FA leads to wins and sorry it does NOT!! Loser mentalities don't fare well in my eyes, nobody tanks or wants to lose!!!! winning is winning even if they dont lead to much.. its what real fans watch games for, entertainment and the joy of winning.

we do not need to be reminded of bad years, bad games, or bad decisions, bad plays, trust me, we remember, we still root for our team game in and game out and don't put conditions on our Fandom like constantly harp on the past, ie 30years blah blah blah.,... I am a week to week and year to year reset fan..doesnt matter i can't wait until camp and PS and the new season.!!

win lose or draw we will fight for our team.. we will not allow fans with poor attitudes tear us down because we are happy about a win...

actually, we do and we don't need to be preached to. its cute you all think we dont understand the difference, WE DO!!. OK preachers, please, ill be happy with all wins and unhappy at all losses no matter the weight they carry. i still view this year though a lot like 2020 ended the year strong, and carried over to a three year run at 12 wins per year 3 straight playoffs and 2 division titles...Not allowing the loser tank mentality to sink in is important.

not a single person in here forgets the first eight games of this year. we do Not forget the saints butt whipping, but it doesn't change thing last night felt good! IDC about the draft of next years offseason or whose coaching stay in the moment!!
